yeah, i was talkking to my mom yesterday and she was complaining already about the hot and humidity..i told her you ain't see nothing yet!!!! LOL!!! she just groaned!!!

You need to get someone to slowly, day by day, increase the temperature in her house. In no time mid to upper 90s and humidity won't bother her a bit

Yeah and it will snow in Panama. Speaking of which does anyone know how much rain Panama gets? I was wondering if we might have a rainy day going thru the canal. See that's what humidity does for you.

If that's the case, the weather will feel just like ... CANADA!

We are once again under a heat alert (temps over 90F) along with a humidex alert (bringing temps to the 105F range) and a smog advisory!!!! Expected to last for the rest of this week ...

YUCH -- the air is so chock full of humidity & smog there is nothing out there to breath ....

London has been very hot and humid the last week or so and its a bit unsual for us, if you have been watching Wimbledon you would have seen it has been hot, aprt from thunder storms last Friday night.

It gets you a little bit in training for the Panama Canal, but I remember the hots day I had on my last PC cruise was Costs Rica and the rain forest, now that was a hot day!

I read a tip from someone on the May cruise. She said to bring a towel with you in the ports as the heat/humidity really gets to you and you can at least dry your face. I hate humidity and it hates me.

Great tip Sandy! And another thing I do is take a wet wash cloth in a ziplock bag to cool down a face or wash off sand or sunscreen. I have a feeling we will need all the help we can get.

As an aside, my best tip for getting rid of sand when you go to the beach is using powder. It absorbs the moisture and the sand comes right off. This isn't for sopping wet sand, just mildly damp.

I work in a small office building that is two stories high...today we had no power for the first 2 hours there...then we were told we had to leave the building while the power company tried to figure out what was wrong...we were all outside for about 30 minutes and then all the power in the building came back on....it was great that we now had lights and power, but we had no A/C...finally the attorneys I work for couldn't take it anymore and told us they were leaving so we could also leave if we wanted (and who wouldn't want to leave a sweatbox!!!).

Got home 2 hours early, yeah!!! But the heat did take its toll on me today..I felt queasy and lightheaded all day until I got back in my house with the A/C!!!

Enjoy all the warm weather! We are still rainy and cool in the great Pacific Northwest

Today is rained ALL day and had a high of 68. DD had to wear pants and a jacket to her summer day camp. She hopes tomorrow is dry. Doesn't have to be hot, just not raining

The weather is glorious here on the Isle of Man - beautiful sunshine , but not too hot, and lovely sea breezes - we went strolling on the beach last night, paddling in the cool sea, and eating melting ice creams. Wild flowers out on all the roadsides . At the weekend we had the Parish Walk (all 84 miles of it) and Honda Power Boat racing. Even DD Joy ventured out to sun bathe yesterday for a while (abandoning her beloved computer ). The only downside to life today is that one of the cats has just been sick on the hall carpet!

Ok tracy, i do that but then i tell her it was YOUR idea!!! You know, I think when we get off the ship, I don't think i ever complain about the harsh winter again!! LOL!!!

Got home late last night from the Jersey shore...rain all day yesterday but had a beautiful weekend.

Melinda, Yes we will be at the Dis Meet on the 9th. Phil and I are both looking forward to it. I'll have my lanyard and name tag on so I'll be easy to spot. Not sure if Phil will wear his but I'll try and force errr persuade him.

Love that tip, Michelle. I always suffer around my neck and face so that will be my favorite tip for the cruise. Thanks! Wait till you see me. My face will be bright red the entire cruise because of the heat not because of being sunburn! I will look normal only in the evening (if it isn't too hot)

I won a small cooler - that I can use on shore excursions -- definitely will put in a small washcloth too !

My brother lives in the Seattle area -- he jokes around about the Seattle Rain Festival -- it runs from Jan 1st to Dec 31st every year

We are getting T-Storms this afternoon -- feel like we are living in Fl. -- without the benefit of WDW

You are dead right on this, I remeber my last Panama cruise and my old camcorder, as soon as you took it from the stateroom Air con to the verdandah it had its dew light on and wouldnt work for about 5- 10 mins. So prepare in advance.

It finally gave up in Costa Rica on the stop before Acapulco in the rain forest and i had to buy a new one

Are there any tips for keeping the condensation to a minimum? Our cam corder died after the cruise last year. The condensation just went on and never went off again.

Always store the camera with the batteries and film out.

Wrap the camera in a towel, before taking it out of the ac and let it warm up in the towel. The towel will slow the transfer of heat to the camera. Only after the camera is warmed should you place the batteries and film back in. Condesation isn't good for those items either, to take care of them, too.

I am excited to be able to bring my new camera on the cruise, and I hope that I remember my own advice!
