Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

Hello everyone!!!!!

I am not sure if this is the official thread for the Aug repo cruise.

DH, DD5 and myself just changed our ressies from the July 17th west cost cruise to this one. We saw there was an opening online and called in the AM and we werere told that Cat 10 and 11 where avail. DH and I spoke all day and called last night to book and Cat 9 had opened up!!!, long story short we jumped on it and now I can't believe we are going to be on the repo cruise.

Please catch me up on any need to know info. I assume we are quite behind. LOL

Thanks

I saw some of your posts on the Live from the May Repo thread! I recognize the pictures :teeth: Welcome!

First and foremost, e-mail me your e-mail address (twhipple@fastmail.fm) and I'll get you signed up for the newsletters. I prepare a newsletter twice a month for all our cruisers. The link I send you will be a link to all previous newsletters as well. This will start to catch you up!

Glad you're cruising with us!

Tracy

Hello diznylnd, while this isn't the original thread, it'll have to do for now. The first post in this thread has the link to our original post that you may find a bit overwhelming, but it's still a good read. As Tracy said the newsletter gives you some great info and will help you to catch up on our plans...Mark

Hi all,

I'm Erbie :earsgirl: . My DH, thiscloud, :earsboy: and our DD (4 on the cruise) princess: and I are on the August repo, along with my mom, little brother (15) and his dad. Looking forward to getting to know you all beforehand! I can't stand the wait! We booked on day one and we've been able to keep ourselves contained until now, but with all the pics and updates about the current repo, we're getting way too excited for something that's still three months away. OMG, is it only three months???

Erbie

Hi erbie, I remember sending a message to your DH about this cruise and he never responded. There are links on the first post that you can use to get more info about any plans we have for our upcoming cruise...Mark

Hi Mark
Is there still room to be added to the DIS meet list on Sunday Aug 21? I had foolishly booked an hour with a personal trainer Sunday morning thinking I could learn how to use all the machines. Now thinking do I really want to do that? Maybe I should just have a fun morning meeting all the DIS people and then go sit by the pool!!

Hi,

Paid in full this week so can now book excursions!!

I noticed on the live thread at the moment there was a breakdown of what lunches were which day, pirate night etc. Is that info available of August yet? Last time we booked Palo on pirate night, I eat so much I just went to bed and missed the fireworks!

Also, we did REAS last time, and I have read that you can book Palo in advance. Can you book anything else? Do you think REAS is still worth it?

Many thanks

Lorraine

Can we pickone thread to post on? This one seems to have the most posts so can we go with this one?

Can you believe that the first 14-day cruise is almost over! I'll bet those on board can't believe it. Not too long until our turn!

Hello everyone from :sunny: California!! We arrived yesterday around 11:30, made the trek from LAX to Grand Californian! Thanks Mary Jo from Dreams for the outstanding directions! If you ever need to get around in So California, Mary Jo is the one to ask! Even down to when to be in the carpool lane! Great!!

We rode a few rides before our room was ready. Our camera started snapping pictures when we reached the turnstiles at DL. The 50th touches are amazing. We found the photomosaic that our pictures on. Gave up on finding us though! We met Mom2Belle&PeterPan for dinner at Blue Bayou. As soon as Barbara turned the corner towards Blue Bayou, I knew it was her. We had a great time with them. Got a table by the water. Then we went on Indiana Jones and saw the fireworks. The fireworks are a must see!!! After trying some wine at the Uva Bar in Downtown Disney, we stopped at the World of Disney and got someone to open the door. We asked him where we could find a good bottle of wine. He was perplexed! Then we asked if he thought $200 for a two week cruise was enough for beer (inside chat joke)! Yes it was dletz's DH Howard! Today we'll get to meet Donna and do the Imagination to Celebration tour! Gotta go for a quick walk this morning, check out the Candy Cane Inn, do some shopping and head off to the parks for a bit, then back here for a dip in the pool!! Busy day again, but we're having a great time!!

Tracy

3 days! not a problem! We have three days, but are doing a tour, arrived at 2 p.m. on the first day and are going to the port and shopping for the morning on the last day. I don't think you'll have any problems at all.

Tracy

P.S. I'm sure there will be many pictures tomorrow :teeth: They'll have to wait until I get home though (I forgot my memory card reader :guilty: )

Tracy,
Don't they have a Costco there? I'm sure Grumbo could help you find it. :rotfl:

Thanks for the update. Hope you continue having a great time!

We had a wonderful visit with winotracy (Tracy) and her dh Bill last night! We probably spent two hours chatting at the Blue Bayou! We agreed that we knew who each other were upon siting, but we still looked a bit different to each other! No photos to share unless we each approve them, lol!

Tracy was the driver of our truck on the Indiana Jones ride! And, a great driver she was! :)

We chatted and chatted and wished you were all with us! It is going to be some party in August!!!

The fireworks from the ground are spectacular!!!!!!! We taped these from the concierge level of the DL Hotel in early May. Brian will have a video clip to share with all soon, he has one minor glitch he needs to fix. Still, the fireworks inside the park were the best, I could watch these over and over and over again!

We ended the night with drinking wine at the Uva Bar in DTD. Our wine connoisseur Tracy chose a delish bottle of Châteaux St. Michelle Reisling. Tracy and Bill described and showed us elements of a wine tasting per our request, are you all ready to spit out your sips of wine, ROFL!!! Tracy also ordered a glass of muscato (sp Tracy?) and we took a sip...very delicious also!

We had stopped to see Howard (Donna - dletz's dh) at the World of Disney earlier in the evening but did not connect. We saw him in the closed store about 1 1/2 hours later and knocked on the door. He was polite as he spoke in the doorway (not knowing who we were), but he must have thought that we were nuts!!! Finally, we said - winotracy, Mom2Belle&PeterPan - Ship of Fools - then we all laughed and laughed. Howard, you were a good sport! Brian commented that you will be alot of fun, and I agree!

OK, I've been up til' 2:00 a.m. the past three nights, so I am going to take a nap for once in my life during the day or I won't be ready to get up for the Magic tomorrow a.m.

Tracy and Bill, thank you for a memorable evening, it was wonderful to share time with you both, and we look forward to more! Tracy is a sweetheart, as is her Bill. :) We spoke fondly about all of you friends on our cruise!

See ya' on the boards!

Barbara

Yep, he thought you were nuts (or Fools, I guess). I called him at 1am when he got off work and the first words out of his mouth were. I ran into some wierd people. They kept asking me questions so fast I couldn't answer them. I of course knew exactly who he was talking about. I told him Tracy was coming in today, guess he didn't figure on getting a visit.

Tracy/Barbara did you go on Space Mountain? Is it open? It's always been closed when we go to Disneyland. How about Tower of Terror? We were there on it's opening day and I wasn't going to go on it but DS (8 at the time) begged. My goodness - I'm still not sure if I enjoyed it or not!

Diane, I'm not Tracy or Barbara but Space Mountain does not open until July. Such anticipation in our house for that day! I have a DS who will be 9 on our day of embarkation, how old is your DS now?
