Bringing the inlaws to OKW

I also like the idea of a 1BR and 2 studios.
Each couple has their own space but you still have the kitchen and laundry facilities.
This option is not too many more points than the 2BR and 1 studio.
Good luck and have fun :)

Thanks for all the advice. I called DVC and made our reservation for a Grand Villa at OKW. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun and will be a special time for our parents. It is my mother-in-law's first Disney visit. The other three have been twice, but have never stayed on property.

There are a lot of great suggestions here. I've stayed at the GV in OKW and it was just beautiful so I'm a bit biased. Each bedroom is very private with it's own bath. Lot's of space so you're not tripping over each other. Just beautiful accommodations!!!

OP, you all will have a great time!!!

I think the GV is the way to go. If people need space, they can go back to their room and close the door. Just make a big deal about this being a big splurge trip since it is the first trip you will all be together and that normally you do not have such nice digs.

 I think your guests are gonna freak at their accomodations!! :woohoo:

I think you've done the right thing :cool1: I'm glad they had one available.

A couple of years ago with took 7 adults and a 15 month old with us and stayed in a GV at OKW. It was the best. Everyone had their own bedroom and their own bathroom. There is lots of hanging out space including the great porches:love::love: And it was great to have a large dining room table. We ate there and played card/board games at night when we were too tired to go anymore.

Can't wait for you to report back on the reactions of all when you get there!

I think an OKW GV is a great choice! You'll love it!

If you wanted to save on points--and depending on the time (and day) of arrival, you might consider staying at a value resort for the first night. I try to stay in a smaller, lower point cost accommodation if I fly in late on a Friday or Saturday night, moving to the primary accommodation rather than spending a lot of points on a weekend night. Since you've already made the ressie by borrowing points, you might be able to break the night of arrival and then bank those points into the next use year.

That's confusing for a new owner, huh? :scared1:
