I know no food from the ship....and previous threads on this topic have gotten a little long and confusing with various scenarios and "allowed" vs. "never caught"...

I need to know:

1). Can I bring FACTORY SEALED pouches of, say, goldfish crackers and pretzels onto St. Thomas (Magen's Bay excursion)? I'm talking legally allowed...

2). Can I bring a thermos water bottle that has water filled from the ship?

3). Can I bring an opened bag of a snacks onto castaway cay (let's say a large bag of goldfish that my kids were snacking on throughout the cruise in our room...) Or no opened food bags there either?

Only asking because I have the world's pickiest eater for a child, and hot and hangry will get ugly on the beaches! Tia!

1) Yes. As long as it's factory sealed.
2) Yes. In my experience.
3) I believe it would need to be unopened on Castaway Cay, also. It's a Bahamian port, same rules as for Nassau.

With regards to snacks on CC - There is a free soft serve ice cream machine (like on the ship) on the island. Your littles might prefer that to goldfish.

Regarding question 1...yes, you can take if off the ship factory sealed. Do note that the same rules apply when getting on the ship on embarkation as well as in ports.. items must be factory sealed, so only open what you think will get eaten, otherwise it has to go in the trash.

I wish.... she won't eat anything even remotely sweet. Including fruit.

Yeah, I have one of those. Her chip of choice? Salt and Vinegar chips. :crazy2: She knows I feel that way too and will come breathe on me when she eats them. She will eat apples though.

You can always do the individual bags of goldfish, more expensive I know but if they won't allow opened bags off the ship you can ration the individual ones throughout the trip. Sams or Costco usually has a good deal on multiples of the little bags.

Great idea!

Great idea!

Necessity is the mother of invention.

My mother thinks it's hysterical that her picky eater managed to give birth to not one but two picky eaters and am forced to walk the minefield of what they will and will not eat. Sadly as an adult I'm still picky.
