My mom is planning to make a special cake for dd's birthday and bring it to Chef Mickey. I just had a panicky thought. Please tell me you are allowed to bring in outside cakes!

Worst case scenario, she could keep it in the cooler in her car and we could eat in in the lobby of the CR or on the beach at the Poly where we are headed afterwards to watch firewroks.
A 2 bedroom at OKW has tons of room and is a great place for a party - just invite all the grandparents back to the villa after the fireworks for some cake.
I've been to a party in the OKW two bedroom with three times that many people. Yes it's a little cramped with that many, but for 12 it will be fine.
According to that thread that a previous poster remembered, you may be able to bring the cake in. However, they will not hold it in the kitchen for you, you'll have to keep it at the table. They will also not provide utensils for cutting the cake or plates, you'd have to get those from the buffet.
... we were not only allowed to bring the cake in, the staff did hold it in their kitchen fridge and provided plates, serving knife, etc. Maybe we were just lucky.
