Bringing Multiple Magic Bands for each person?

We've always had a different color MB for each of the 5 of us for each trip. Easy to "find" when you know BLUE is "Dad"/etc.

But if the kids like bringing multiple bands (different colors for each day/etc) has anyone found it's super difficult making sure each kid has their OWN MB on each day? Like, Jimmy accidently took Sally's BLUE MB thinking it was his BLUE MB?

They want to bring different colors - is that just asking for a hot mess each morning figuring out whose is whose? (Yes, I know their names on are the back) But I envision someone not getting in the park because they brought the wrong band/etc.

Anyone brought multiple bands per person and did you have a method to the madness or was it a disaster?

We bring multiple every trip and keep them all together - the night before we lay out clothes and pick magic bands... they have names on them so easy enough to sort

Do they really all work simultaneously? If, for example, each of the 5 of us have 3 EACH - does the front desk person (at check-in) have to manually hold up 15 different bands to activate them appropriately? That seems excessive, but without that, I'm wondering if all 15 would open doors/access parks/have payment built in/etc. Does this make sense?

The bands link to MDE not your specific trip it’s essentially a key to MDE which holds your hotel reservation, FPP, credit card for charging if staying on property, Photonpass etc. No additional activation is ever needed

We like to match our bands to our outfit for the day so we each bring multiple bands. Not hard to keep track of since our names are on the back. Just a quick check for the name before putting it on

I will add battery power in the bands decreases over time so be mindful of that but we have never had a problem

We do this too. With the names on them, it is easy enough to know whose band is whose.

As was said before, magic bands aren't activated on each trip, if you've already used them, they're activated and if Disney sends you new ones with your resort reservation, they come activated. They're all linked to each person on your MDE and you can use them interchangeably. On our trip a few weeks ago we had probably 20 magic bands for my family of 4! Ours are all different colors and patterns (we've each bought a few in addition to the free ones given to us) so we can't really mix them up, but in order to keep them sorted, I made a "pile" for each person on the dresser with their bands stacked. We picked out magic bands along with clothes for the next day each night before bed.

All you would have to do is confirm each morning before you head out the door that the name matches the kid.
Personally I'm not all aobut taking and using multiple just because I really don't care.
If you think its gonna be a hot mess then put your foot down and say you bring your favorite one and that is that. But be aware that could mean that Jimmy and Sally both want to bring blue lol.

I am the only one in my family that sticks to one or two bands, the rest use several MB's during a trip and my neice has been know to wear a few and bring a few more in her bag . We all have quite a few and honestly I don't care which one they choose! Unless the kids are very young I don't see how they could get mixed up especially when the name is inside.

Both of my DD's have the same specialty band (MK 45th anniversary) so they used a sharpie to put initials inside.

They are not trip specific but person specific - think of them like a fancy key. They will always work for park entrance and fast pass; occasionally one won't be recognized for room access but a quick trip to the front desk will fix that.

It's not an issue to use several magic bands and not an issue to keep them straight. Just double-check the names.
