This is our first trip with our son, who really enjoys the water. I know in our past trips we have seen kids with a few pool toys and floats and such, but I'm curious if there are rules about what you can bring or if it is just common courtesy. We are just thinking about bringing along a small kick board.

I don't think you are allowed to use floats unless you have an infant. My DH got reprimanded by a life guard when I took the baby out of her float to give her a snack and my DH was just sort of holding her float without the baby. The lifeguard said no floats except for babies. When we stayed at Boardwalk, the hotel provided pool noodles so I would think they would be ok. I really don't know about kickboards.

I don't think you can use a kick board. I've read many times that guests can't use anything that will obstruct try lifeguard's view of the pool floor.
