Is it too late to sign up for lanyards?? I saw that whoever was ordering them was almost at the max.

What are your thoughts on a just 9 year old signing out of the club?? I am not very comfortable with the idea. but my dd is begging me to let her do it. Any advice??

Our rule was that our DD was allowed to check herself out, but she needed to have them page us to let us know, and she was only allowed to go from the club to our cabin, or ask permission to go somewhere specific with friends. She wasn't allowed to go anywhere alone, but she made a bunch of friends and they went everywhere together - usually to Scoops for ice cream .

This is probably the way I will go with my 11 yr old DD. I will also let her know that she can lose the sign out privilege if she breaks the rule.

I think I am going to try the paging thing with my dd - she will be so happy!. Setting specific rules and having only specific places she can go ie: scoops or the cabin is a great way to keep tabs on her. I think even I can live with that

Guess I replied to the lanyard thread and didn't even know it!! Must be the approaching "old age". My dd almost 9 asked me why my hair was so white on top...... told her it was grey hair and Mom needed to dye it. LOL

I will try to find something for the fish hang thing on the door. At Christmas we had stockings - one of the ladies of the DIS gave one to each of us with our DIS name on it. It was great fun - there were little presents in there every day - We gave out little Foam Gingerbread Men that we made and then delivered.

What a fabulous idea the mini navigator was. We did not have that on the X-mas Cruise. and the way that I was able to deliver the gifts we had was to walk up and down ever single floor and look for those stockings... you realize how large the ship is - my girls thought it was too much walking..

When I come back from my 3 weeks at Disney I hope to get an updated total so that we can get our stuff together for the gifts to leave etc. I doubt that I am able to get that organized this week - I am knee deep in a huge list of To do's before Saturday.

Hopefully I will have my cabin # before I leave and Air info, otherwise I too will need to update that upon my return.

OK so LINDA BELL (Cat6), GOINGSOUTH - (NOT YET CONFIRMED) (Cat7), SMORES (Cat3ADA), LORRAINE (Cat3), GO TRAVEL (Cat12) have agreed to do room tours. The idea was that it would be at 2ish on a sea day but would you guys rather the people who want to tour contact you and arrange details or shall we arrange a meeting place at a set time for everyone and you can go from there? I dont want people to be hanging around in their rooms waiting for people if not many will come.

Lindsay my room is cat 10, but is a secret porthole room . . . I actually booked cat 12 GTY but my TA is great and called DCL for me and that's the room I got.

I would love to tour a suite, so be sure to post how it will be done (do we make an appointment or will there be an open house time?).

Also, I will be leaving for Europe on July 26, so I will take the fish extender list just before that and hope I get everyone!

Disney Airfare

O.K. I guess I need to post more to be able to PM!

I have a question!

I got a notice from Disney through my travel Agent that Airfare could be available as soon as July 3rd online.

Anybody that has Disney Airfare have you gotten your flights yet or are they showing on your reservation?

I checked this morning and it doesn't show up!

My Sister (DisneyAnn&Dan) and her Family are on the 10 Day Med Cruise and will be on the transatlantic. Right now they are in Europe for the summer. Heading to Italy. My DBIL knows the train system pretty well.

For those of you on the 10 Day Med they will probably be able to give you some time and where to get trains in the ports.

On the list, I thought it had gotten cleaned up, but I'm listed as gottatravel, but it's got2travel. And we don't have a Cat 11 anymore, it's a GTY 12, should be gettting assigned any day now.

For the birthdays, can you add my mom, Juanita, Aug 1. My son is not able to go on the cruse now, so I'm taking my mom for her birthday.

Most folks have found out their airfare by calling Delta since that's who Disney uses most times. Not sure how they were able to get Delta to give them the info...I think someone said they told Delta they wanted to make sure their frequent flyer info was on there but didn't have their confirmation number with them.

FYI, If you booked your own airfare but plan to use DCL transfers. You may have to call DCL directly to add your flight information. The online check in flight information form is not set up with the many European airports many of us are connecting through to BCN.

Does anyone know when we will find out what Disney plans? Picking something totally out of the air how about the 2nd sea day at 2 at my cabin to start...when we have all the room numbers we can do it by deck and then find the ice cream.

we have an ice cream social set up for monday 8/20 at 11am, for the girls!

about the ada rooms--i was told that they don't fill them until X number of days before the sailing(unless you have a medical form)--then they offer them to any passenger, but you can get bumped if someone requests (and has a medical form) for an ada room.
--we were waitlisted for a cat3--shortly before x-mas (approximatley 8- 9 months prior to sailing) they offered us an ADA room. then another cat 3 became available(just prior to final payment) and they switched us to that room--they said that's just how they do it--filling ada rooms last. i asked for our ada room back --it was still not filled--so, we got it back--i like the idea of being in the way back of the boat--(hopefully less hallway traffic, and close to soda)

This is what I got from the cruiseline gal when I asked why they didn't do a waitlist for ADA's:
Because of the ADA, the cruiselines cannot require a Dr's note or even proof of disability in order for someone to reserve those few staterooms. They will NOT bump someone out of an accessible stateroom even if they know for sure that person is not disabled. The mentality is "first come, first served and if someone needs an accessible stateroom they need to book early". This is sometimes difficult when booking early means as soon as a date is released, often over a year ahead of time.

Don't think anyone would have any problems with what happened to you. It is more a matter of those that grab the ADAs that don't need them when there are dozens of available regular cabins in the same catagory. I for one am glad you got it. I can't wait to see it. I didn't even know they had those! Mine actually has a bathtub and a shower. Didn't know they had those either.

My assumption about the medical form was the same as yours, as was the belief they would bump based on need, but the form is just to alert Disney to medical needs and it is not required until 14 days before sailing.

Nor are all the airlines listed! Seems like there are so many, but the airline we are flying (LOT Polish Airline) is not on the list. I emailed DCL and they said they would gladly add our flight info manually.
