Thanks Deb and Nancy. Just got off the phone with Disney. No ADA rooms but lots of regular room if anyone is interested. I should have known better. It has gotten to the point with ADAs that if you don't get them the first day you just don't get one. RATS.

Linda

Whats an ADA room? Am I being stupid?

Lindsay

:confused3 I keep trying to send a PM but I keep getting this message when I hit submit. (Could not find phrase 'error_postcount_too_low_pm'.) Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Thank you.

I believe you need to post a certain number of messages in the forum before you can PM. Im not sure how many though. I dont think its alot.

Lindsay

PS Just keep posting replies lol it will let you soon enough

How is the navigator coming?

Can you move it forward?

Apart from the stuff that needs to be confirmed its as good as finished. The layout is ready anyway just need rooms/names etc and the special event news. Do you want printed copies on the boat or it sent out before the event?

Do you want a sneak peak to proof read it for me?

Lindsay

Hi. We are going to Ireland before the cruise and will be in Dublin the 14th to the 17th. If you have any good pointers they would be appreciated.:cheer2:

You will have a wonderful time in Dublin! I can give you suggestions if you'd like, but you should really PM Walsh Clan (Moira) -- see her posting a few pages back -- since she lives in Ireland. Hopefully if you post a few more times you will be able to PM!

Has it been listed yet what the theme nights are (other than the formal and semi formal)?
Was wondering when Pirate's Night is and if they will be having any other themes (i.e. tropical, Mickey Mouse Club--like previous cruises).

I'm wondering about this, too -- some of our friends here who also did the Eastbound repo could help us out some -- although they may not do things in the same order, or at the same ports, as that one.

We could check the navigators from the repo and see what the schedule was and try to reverse it.

I would like to know this too. I also wonder how formal did people dress on Formal night. I keep thinking about how hard it will be to pack considering the luggage weight restrictions on most international flights.

Hopefully not the night my dad was very drunk thinking he was funny calling me Pocohontis!

Lindsay

Lindsay, I vaguely remember you all teasing one gentleman, making him sit a bit away from you all or something like that.:) It was funny if it was you all!

i'm bringing the patch--i've used i before and i did get some blurry vision but may better than being sick!

If you got blurry PLEASE do NOT use the patch again. I had that problem and continued to wear it and was blind for 3 months. Now I only take giger tablets if it bothers me and they work. Had to go to all sorts of specialist, Thank God my eyesight came back , but they said if they tried it again it might not return. So please be careful. Cathie

Cathie, be sure to ask Moira (Walsh clan) any questions you have about Dublin -- she lives in Ireland and is a veritable fount of knowledge (and nice, too)!

Hi. Our cabin # is 7136.

Regarding the comment about ADA rooms - there are not alot of them on the ships. It's a sore subject with me. When I was on another cruise line they had accessible cabins that were for 2 people only. That way we were forced to get 2 cabins and pay more. Also, we always found that it cost more for an accessible cabin because they are always in a higher category. We always had to submit a form that is filled out by the doctor in order to get a handicap room. Depending on the person's disability can depend on modifications that the ship can do for you. I am a travel agent and I signed up for classes to become a Specialist for Accessible Travel. One of my clients was hard of hearing which is the #1 disability. The cruise lines put a door bell on the door and a special phone that vibrated and lights went on to let them know someone was calling or at the door. Someone else had a hard time getting into the tub (arthritis) and the cruise line brought them a step stool to get into the tub and a seat for the bathtub. So if someone has a disability, please contact the cruise line and they will try to help you.

Didn't mean for this to be a lecture. Just info.

Have to say though, I'm partially sighted (through a disability) and so the navigators aren't easy for me to read but dinsey informed me that they can not do a larger print or braille navigator so I think although they do deal well with some disabilities some things they arent quite so good at.

As far as charging more for a diablity room, the cruise line also charges more for larger families. In order to get the room that holds 5, you have to pay a premium price, since they all have balconies. We have 10 in our family, but instead of getting 2 family rooms, we usually get 3 lower graded rooms (usually even 3 9's are better than 2 family cabins), but then we have to bring an extra person as a chaperone since DCL requires an adult of at least 21 in each room(still cheaper). Sometimes we don't want to bring an extra person ans we just want to bring our family.

So if DCL is listening, how about cheaper family rooms and easing up on the 21 rule for families with adjoining cabins?...oh and add the cheaper Disabled rooms, too!
