Thought I would stop by and say hello. Hope all are doing well. We are getting cold here. Hopefully no snow this year. I would not complain if we had a mild winter.

I see they are going to announce the 2008 special cruise toward the end of this month. I would very delighted if they go back through the Panama Canal Zone as that is one of my desired cruises along with Alaska. So keeping my fingers crossed. I already rebooked for 08 while on the Nov Dbl Dip and am just waiting to move it. How many others would do do another repo?

In my situation, Been there, Done That! Personally, ports in Mexico did not impress. But we did miss out on Cabo due to Hurricane Hillary, so can't comment on that port.

Good Luck to those that want and get to go!

PS - Be careful of the food that they serve at La Perla in Acapulco!:scared1:

Our family did that the last time, and it was a fabulous trip! I doubt that we'd repeat it, but if you haven't done it, I would recommend it.

Lots of folk who went to the cliff divers show ate something there that made them sick, so careful on the food.

I'm thinking of one of the repos too. I have no real desire to visit the Mexican ports again (done those on another line) but I've always wanted to go through the Panama Canal. I'm still undecided right now.

Me
probably the fall one....

Us too, we hope. DH really wants to go through the Panama Canal, but hopefully he won't be scared off by the prices. I've been giving out the cost of this repo cruise in bits and pieces, only telling him the info when he is distracted, so he just dismisses me with that "ok, hon", or "sounds good". ;) Keeps the heart stoppage to a minimum.:)

we are also thinking about doing the Aug Repo through the PC ....Just hope the ports on the caribbean side are good ...we Dont care for PV or Maz ...been there done that and they werent that good ...But we are looking forward to the PC ...wahooo ...:woohoo: :woohoo:

I have no real opinion on the Mexico ports. I just want to go throught the PC.

I will have to do some fast talking or win the lottery to get DH to go along. His plan is to retire this year and it may be bad timing for trip planning.:rotfl2:

Oh yeah! The prices will be a big factor. After this year's blow out Europe trip, I'm not sure I'll have anything left. And knowing that I will need to put a new roof on the house within the next 2 years pretty much blows my travel budget. :scared1:

The Panama Canal and Curacao were highlights of the trip for me. We rafted the Rio Papagayo outside Acapulco, and it was a LOT of fun! Our group booked and filled two excursions by booking directly and paid half what Disney was charging, and it included the transportation to and from!

Just a little. Loads of fun! Bravo Rafting.

Our favorite was our raft guide telling us to take the last one standing up. Everyone on our boat (except the guide) ended up in the water, so we floated through those rapids hanging onto the ropes on the side of the raft. I recommend this excursion! The trip up there is just beautiful. Ahhh good times!

Good Morning!
I just found a terrific article on today's Frommer's Newsletter on cheap airfare strategies. It had some very clever ideas on searching sites for fares both domestic and international. They mention my newest favorite travel site, Kayak.

Have a nice weekend!

That was such a hoot. The Aug PC repo was a magical time with some really special folks. My daughter and I also did a diving experience in the aquarium in Curacao that was amazing, booked directly with them.

But as much as I loved it, I don't want to repeat it. There are other places to go and things to experience.

But if you haven't done it . . . .by all means book it, by the time you go you should have about 300 new friends to meet.

Lucky you and all the wonderful things you'll have time for with two weeks to spend! We went on a self-booked snorkeling excursion through www.bountyadventures.com. They took us on a "pirate ship" to the Spanish Waters to snorkel around a sunken tugboat, provided a great lunch (hot items, not sandwiches), drinks, and later led us around the point where the current was stronger, but the sea life was even more abundant, varied, and colorful. We got terribly sunburned, but had a fabulous time. Others in our group visited the aquarium, swam with sea turtles. Still others visited the caves. Apparently that was very hot and humid. Bring water. We explored the market stalls along the waterfront, went across the river to explore the town, do some shopping, get our passports stamped at the customs office. Willemstad is a beautiful, colorful town, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Hello all,

Disney Elf - Hoping you can add us to the list DH, DS(8) and I will be in a Cat 5!

I had a question on palo and the spa. Being a first time DCL trip for us, we will not get to book anything until 75 days. Since this is 14 days, will all of you seasoned vets still be limited to one booking on line and thus will i have a pretty good chance of gettting something at 75 days?

Also, how likely is it that i will find excursions already full at 75 days. I am wondering if I need plan b,c d etc.

Looking forward to learning from all of you!!

Welcome Robsmom!

Yes, everybody is limited to one ressie still. You shouldn't have a problem, and then of course there is the waiting list!

As for the excursion, that's hard to tell. You can also try once you board.

I remember for the PC cruise I so wanted to go deep sea fishing! Nothing online but once I got on board spaces opened up! Unfortunately, Hurricane Hillary had other plans for us. Never did get to do that excuriion!

There is twice as much availability but the same amount of passengers for a 14 night cruise. I think new folks shouldn't have much of a problem with 75 days out. :goodvibes

Scratch42 and RobinMarie - you confirmed my logic, as long as people can still on book one of each meal in advance palo should be no problem, the spa should be easier, and my only real concern should be excursions. I have been reading them over and there is really only one port that i have a strong strong first choice on and another that only has 2 i want so i will try to find out from the DIS if they are available around 76 days and if yes focus first in the morning on those.
