You can't unless you have two as the airport might ticket and tow your car. Did you try to Go on your DMV or call and ask if they will issue you a second one even if the second one is a temporary tag.

Thanks. Might be too late but I can call. I took 5 weeks to get the first one. We leave in 2 weeks. I am a planner but I fell asleep on this one.
I didn't know if I could make a copy for my dash. I am going to call the airport tomorrow. It is a small airport so worst case I take it with me.

I don't think the airport will accept a photo copy It. Just a suggestion could you get dropped off then the person going with you park the car then you can take it with you. That if the other people are driving age. Yeah that might be tight DMV don't really move to quick as it is but you
Never know they my be able to help. Hope all works out for you and have a great trip. I use a small airport but don't need a handicap placard but it easy to drop someone off then park te car as the gargle is across the airport. It know that you sitting in the terminal and look though security and see the street.

Does your home airport have a shuttle lot? Most of the time, the shuttle at ours picks us up right at our car. If not, you can also park near a pick up point.
When I had a temporary placard in 2011, we did the shuttle & took the placard with us. I was mobile for short spurts & didn't use a chair or scooter in the airports, only at the Parks. I wasn't traveling alone, so I had help with luggage & stuff.

Will probably try to park as close as possible to gate. It is a small airport. Definitely need the placard more in Fla.

Many of us have this issue. We park at an off site parking facility, that shuttles us to the airport. That way we keep our parking placard for our destination. It is usually cheaper than onsite parking, too.

Or we drop off the special needs passenger (and the bags) with another person and the driver parks the car.

I am thankful this is a short term issue! I have grown to appreciate how tough it is to have a disability! The thing that people have to go through and the complete cluelessness of some people!

*FIVE* weeks?!?! Good grief, what did they have to do, cut down the tree to print it on? :) When we got the one for my granddad, it took 20 min at the doctor's office having him fill out the paperwork, then about 15 min waiting at the DMV and I walked out with the hangtag.

Oh, and don't forget your registration for it. Some places won't let you use the hangtag if you can't prove the person it belongs to is in the car. I don't think it would be a problem at Disney, but better safe than sorry.

Massachusetts doesn't provide duplicate (different) or travel placards.

This is a much smaller state with fewer parking spaces; plus the wait gives the RMV the opportunity to follow its own regulations, and up on the need/eligibility

Okay thanks for the info sorry op I was wrong thought might be able to help.

Not a problem David. We are flying out of Manchester so it shouldn't be too bad. Maybe the shuttle. In laws are with us so that's the tough part. They can be harder than the children sometimes! Ha!
My placard has my picture so that works out good.

At MHT it's very easy to pull up to the curb to drop somebody off and then go to the parking garage that's right there attached to the terminal. A week only costs $85 / $17 per day. It is so wonderful being able to park that close to the terminal. Another option to consider is that there are some reasonably priced companies for driving you to the airport. We've used both Flightline and Border Limo and been extremely happy with the service. It's a little more expensive that this but it really is nice having them pick you up and drop you off right at the door to the terminal and even load your bags into the vehicle for you. Not having to deal with traffic or directions is a huge added bonus.

We have taken a car service to the airport our past 3 flights so that DH can bring his tag with him for the rental car.

Its a shame you had to wait 5 weeks for yours. We had the doctor fill out paperwork and here on Long Island it was our town hall that gives us the placard. In and out in 10 minutes.

When we lived in NYC, we had to go through the DMV. That took about an hour, and we walked out with the tag.

A special license plate used to be an option. I have not done any research on this though. The tag is perfect for DH, so he can go between our 2 cars.

Mass DOT is soooooo slow for everything. Those first few weeks would have been nice to have the placard. I am moving around much better now.
Love MHT!
Thanks to everyone for the replies

Just wanted to let everyone I made out great. Got to park pretty close to the terminal entrance without placard.
I used it quite a bit at Vero Beach and surrounding restaurants.
One tidbit I found was I got one free days parking for having the placard.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughtful replies!

That great they did that I am not sure if other airports do it so it always a good idea to ask. If they do that great if not then maybe if enough people ask their come up with something.
