We have a reservation for 6 at Ohana for dinner. When the reservation was made, we thought we would have a babysitter taking care of a 2yo. Now we realize we need to bring the 2yo with us. We tried calling to change reservation to 7 people but can't.

Any idea what will happen if we show up as 6 + 1 toddler for a reservation for 6? Will they let us either squeeze a high chair at the table or sit the toddler on our lap? Or is there a danger we would be simply turned away?

We had the same thing and they fit us in. I suppose they wouldn't have to, but we didn't have any problem.

Last year, we had reservations for 8 in our party at Le Cellier (6 adults and 2 babies, both were 2). My BIL decided to come on the trip with us a month before and I couldn't change these reservations to 9. What I was told was to keep the reservation for 8 and have one of the babies sit on a lap. This was fine as one of the babies wouldn't sit in a high chair at any of the restaurants; she always sat in her mother's lap. When we got to LeCellier and told them, there was actually 9 but we had a baby who would only sit on her mother's lap, they weren't too happy, but they accommodated us. The funny thing about this meal was that both babies slept through our whole meal, falling asleep before our meal came and sleeping through dessert which included their birthday cake. They woke up as we left the restaurant. It can be done. This was our best meal of the week! :thumbsup2

I used to work in a very busy restaurant and I do have to say that when a party (especially one that was originally an even number of people) shows up with an extra person it is a major PITA.

If you do show up with an extra person, please, please, please be as nice as you possibly can about it. It will make them much more likely to go out of their way to help you.

This was a question I was very curious about because I am going to be the extra person. My cousins are taking me (treating me actually ) and they had already made their reservations, so it will be 5 instead of 4 3 adults and 2 children 2 and 5. I literally have been calling pretty much everyday to see if someone cancels but when I call they all are so very nice and said just get their early and see what can be done.

I'll remember to be extra nice, but even if they can't get me in, I am in Disney and I am sure I can find someplace else to eat!!!

There is no definite answer to this question. It depends on the restaurant staff, how busy it is, etc. Each restaurant has a maximum capacity due to fire codes and it has nothing to do with the age of the diners.

Most people have success, we've had success. We've also been told no twice. Once we would have had to go to standby status which had a huge huge wait and the other time, at WCC, we were told they would not accommodate us with one extra person in any way, shape, or form.

I think you have to go into this situation hoping for the best but expecting the worst, having a backup plan just in case.

For me, if they can add me great, if not there are other places that I can go and get something to eat, I have been there so many times before that its not that big of a deal for me. Would I love to see the little ones see the charaters of course. but its not the end of the world.

We will just get there a little earlier than normal and ask nicely to see what the CM's can do.

Great attitude! :thumbsup2 I hope they will accomodate you!
