I just bought a new cd player/radio combo to take on my trip to OKW (leaving in 5 days! :cool1: )

I was showing it to my DH, and he asked if we are allowed to take it to the pool area of the resort. I said, "Of course!" but as I started thinking, I cannot say I have ever seen someone at the pool area with a radio.

Of course "I" would be respectful and play it low, but I can see where maybe radios would be banned because of course there are some idiots that would "jam out".

Anyone know for sure?

I don't know if it is allowed or not, but even if it is low if I am 6 feet away from you I have to hear it...I would never take a radio to a public place, it just seems very rude to expect others to HAVE to listen to my choice of music. Now if you have headphones...

Really? I see it all the time at pools and at the beach. I know that doesn't make it "right" but if the person to the left of me is listening to hip hop and the person to the right of me is listening to salsa...shouldn't I be able to listen to what I want to? :confused3

Now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever seen a radio or CD player at a Disney pool either. I know that my teens always bring their MP3 players or walkman style radios with the headphones. Maybe a phone call to OKW would best answer this particular question.

How about playing it with head phones, then no one will mind. I have never seen anyone at any resort pool with a radio/cd player that others can hear.

Well, it is an anniversary trip...just myself and DH...this is our first trip without our DD! So I was just trying to set the mood, soak up the ambiance of the pool area and listen to some light jazz while drinking a cocktail or two. So I don't want to "tune him out" with headphones....although I bet ya he would like to tune ME out sometimes...LOL.

I will check out the situation. If no one else has a radio by the pool, then I will save mine to listen to in the room.

:flower: :flower: :flower:

I have seen radios at the pool. Personally i think those 2 way radios and walkie talkie cell phones are more annoying than music. The FW pool has piped in music on a loop. Okay at first but by the end of the week you wish you could change the channel. Don't know if all the resorts have piped in music. I tried headphones but the kids kept interrupting. I gave up on music by the disney pools.

The OKW pools have music piped to the pool area, unless they have a DJ at the pool. So your music will be clashing with the pool music. Leave it at home.

Thanks FW.

Deb and Bill-Leave it at home? You mean in the room, I hope! Do they really have a DJ at the pool? I have never seen that at a resort! Or were you being funny?

No, they actually have a DJ at the pool during the summer time for about two hours in the late morning/early afternoon. They have pool games for the kids, too.

I would check with your hotel to see if it is allowed. Why not get an MP3 player or an inexpensive cd player with headphones. It will give you what you want, as well as, not interupt the people around you. :goodvibes

OMG! A DJ would be cool!!!! :cool1: I was not aware that there was even music piped in to the surrounding pool area, so I am happy about that!

laurajean-I stated above...it is my anniversary trip and I don't wanna tune out my DH... :sad2: he wouldn't appreciate that!
