We won't need the trams because we are staying close by and walking-which is part of why I am considering taking my own stroller. But our umbrella lilke strollers sit too low for my husband to push, so we'd have to take our nice Graco stroller that goes with our travel system, and with another baby on the way I don't want it to get stolen.
If we decide to rent and bypass the strollers at the beginning of the day to get to Nemo quicker, can you rent a stroller with the Visa card thing at Tomorrowland?
No, the only place to rent is just inside the entrances of DL and DCA. A few times over the last year, they have closed those stroller rental areas and had only one rental location, located just outside DL main entrance, to the right. (By the kennels) I don't know if they'll be doing that again, this year.
The good news is once you do pick up a stroller (either at DL, or DCA) you can take it to the other park, you don't have to wait again. If you leave the park's area, however, and go to DTD, you will have to leave the stroller there, where, hopefully, it'll be waiting upon your return, if not you'll have to take your receipt to get another one.
If I wasn't taking the trams, I'm not sure what I would do, bring my own, or get one for free? My stroller isn't very expensive and it wouldn't be a great lose if stolen. Though, I've never had a problem at either DLR, or WDW, when it comes to strollers (either my own, or Disney's) with the exception of having the CMs move them around. I do know of people, however, who will take a Disney stroller, and use it, if there is nothing left in it. I personally have never had someone take mine, but it's never left empty either. There's always something in it. (blanket, bags, towels, etc.)
When I usually go, it isn't first thing in the a.m. so the rental line is non-existent. And yes, while my DD is 7, she is still small enough (48#, 46") that she can ride in the stroller when tired. Also, I just can't break myself of having someplace to hold our bags, cameras, etc. If we are only going for a few hours (I know, everyone hates DLR APHs!) then we don't use a stroller.
If the rental line is the biggest issue, while one of you is renting the stroller, the other one can take the kids around that immeadiate area for a few photos, including going into the Town Square area (around the flagpole) where there are almost always characters, for pictures, and autographs. Depending on the characters line length, you may still be in the same line when your stroller shows up.
