Bring the baby?

Hi there!! I am new here - educating myself for a Disney trip in February!!! It would be my husband, myself and our two children aged 5 and 2 at the time of the trip - we also have a new baby age about 6 months old at the time of trip. We'd like to bring the baby and know that means that one of us would have to hang back with her while the other one rides with the older kids but that got me thinking - are most rides made for two meaning one of our kids would have to ride alone/with a stranger or are most made for 3+ riders? Also is there anything we could do all together as a family with the baby?

We took DD 10 months and there were lots of rides we could all go on:

Winnie the Pooh
Dumbo
Alice
Snow White
Toads Adventure
Nemo
Pirates
Little Mermaid (CA)
some of the rides in Bugs Land
Monsters Inc
Small World

these are some of the ones i can think of straight away.

We had no problems taking her in and around both parks in the stroller

Our DD also LOVED meeting the characters while bigger people were on the other rides.

It's likely that most rides your 2 year old can go on the baby can too. If the older kids were older I'd say maybe not. But since you'll have another under 40"er I'd bring baby.

Also lots of rides fit 3 - DS, DD & I often *well not sure how often now - DS's getting BIG* ride Big Thunder *your 2 year old will likely be too short* - all the Fantasy Land rides *but even baby can go on those.

We have my 17mo here now, and have ridden POTC, Buzz Lightyear and TSMM with him as well as the other rides mentioned.

Eta: and the Zephyr and the carousels in both parks.

The pp was correct, if you have a 2 year old with you they'll be riding mostly rides that hte baby can ride as well. The baby will sit on your lap for the rides so you can still have your 2 year old sit near you.

DS took his first trip to Disneyland at 7 months and his second trip at 9 months. He did great both trips. I find Disneyland to be very baby friendly.

I brought a 6 WEEK old to DL (years ago, he's 15 now) in a baby sling and took him on all the children's rides no problem. Remember, when Walt designed DL it was with the intention that the whole family could participate together, so any ride without a height restriction, for safety reasons, is fine for a baby.

I also vote for take the baby. DL is designed for families in a way that other parks are just not.

And don't forget the baby centers are amazing if you need some quite time with the baby: changing tables, rocking chairs, microwaves and high chairs. I haven't been in them since DS was 1 (now 9), but they pretty much thought of everything.

We actually lost his pacifier and the spare while we were in Disneyland. This was critical because the only way to get my baby to sleep was with one. But they sell those in the stores too with all the other sundry stuff.

All have no minimum height requirements so you could take all in your group if you wished.

I got this 2 months ago from their website so you would want to check what is open during your visit.

We went on most of the rides that were open with our 11 month old when we went last time and it was great.
