Bring own blankets???

This is probably going to sound like a stupid question, but has anyone brought their own blankets to use in their resort room?

With all the talk about what might be on the bedspreads and blankets, I thought I just might do this. We will be driving down so there will be plenty of room {we have a mini van}. Plus we will be staying in a few hotel rooms before getting to WDW.

I figure I could take them off the morning we get up before leaving for the parks and put them in the closet area out of mousekeeping's way. Then put them back on when we got back from the parks. I have read that some ask for fresh blankets and so on when they check in or while they are in their room, but knowing my luck if I did that I would get a mouskeeper that was having a bad day and give me dirty ones that were just taken off someone's bed that day.

Not a stupid idea, just time consuming and work you shouldn't have to do. Stop being paranoid, go and have fun, I think reading things on here does that to me too and I am trying to put it out of my mind.

We let our kids bring their own pillows and blankets just because they sleep more comfortably w/their own stuff. In fact so do I -- I bring my own pillow wherever I go (but I can put up with the hotel blankets)! We also drive and often drive overnight so they just use the pillows and blankets in the car on our way and then bring them to the room when we arrive. I will usually fold up our blankets and put them in a pile with our pillows on a chair or at the foot of the bed and mousekeeping just works around it. My DH thinks I'm crazy for bringing so much but yet it never fails on that first night he'll always ask "did you bring a pillow for me?". So if you feel more comfortable bringing your own things then do it ! It's your vacation -- be happy!
