Bring non-Disney lightsaber to park?

Has anyone brought a lightsaber that was not a Disney one to the park? Do they allow that or check or anything?

Also, do the long sleeves they have work for them?

I haven’t tried myself but people 14 and older are not allowed to wear costumes to the park and any toys that resemble weapons are also technically not allowed. So, anyone 14 or older bringing in a lightsaber as part of a costume would not be allowed by the rules. (These are the general rules, special events have different rules.)

Having said that, my guess is they probably wouldn’t stop someone from carrying a non-Disney prop lightsaber, especially a kid, unless it has some unique aspect that makes it unusually suspicious for some other reason.

I have never seen security or anyone check the actual lightsaber to see that it is Disney and not someone else's. With all the legacy options, even the official ones all look pretty different now. As long as yours doesn't do anything crazy or look insane, it's probably fine to bring it in for photos or whatever.

I can't speak to the sleeves themselves. The one I have basically has a foam insert the length of the saber with extra space at the top for the hilt. If yours isn't longer or wider than a Disney one, it should fit (but you can probably find nicer and cheaper options elsewhere).

You should be fine bringing one in. We took some in that were definitely non-Disney. Only issue I had was that I dropped the hilt at the Security checkpoint. Totally my fault. It still works though.

As for the sleeves, we don't use those. We made our own using leather, a pool noodle; and dice cups (for the ends). Much more durable, and we didn't worry about breaking the "blades". I've seen people bring theirs back into the parks because of issues with it, etc, so I don't think you'll have issues. Luckily, with the trams running again, it's a quick trip back to put it in your car if there is an issue. Some CMs can be overzealous at times.
