I wanted to remind you all of our doctor's advice to bring double supplies when you travel.
We always do this and without any malfunctions, we almost did not have enough. We were at Disney for free dining. Our 15 year old son uses Novolog flexpens--one usually lasts a week. We were gone 9 nights, so we brought the one he was using and 3 more. He can eat whatever he wants; we count the carbs and dose accordingly. He had many shakes, smoothies, dessert twice a day, etc. He had less than 100 units on his last pen when we got home.
I just wanted you all to plan to bring double and then maybe more.

Great advice. We travel the the WOrld by plane and have several medicines and such that my son needs. I always pack a full supply for our trip in our checked luggage as well as our carry on. That way if something happens to one or the other we are covered.

I agree whatever type of medication or hard to get supplies, it is always good to bring at least twice what you think you will need.
I would not put any medication in checked luggage though (even if it is extra, extra).

Also, if you use a national pharmacy (like Walgreens, Walmart or Target's Pharmacy), the pharmacy will be able to help you if you have problems with supply. We found this out the hard way when I forgot some medication and had to get a replacement prescription at Target. They transferred my prescription to a Florida Target near our resort and then transfer the prescription back to our 'home' Target when we got home.

I bring so much insulin for my baby I bet I could treat every Type 1 child in the state of Florida. :rotfl:

Very good advice and thanks for reminding everyone.
