Bring birthday gifts on vacation for child?

We were at Disney for my oldest's 7th birthday. While he was asleep we decorated our window at POFQ--happy birthday banner and balloon garland held up with suction cups then let him have a cupcake all to himself with lunch.
Great idea. Forgot about decorations for both her and my husband for the following day. I’ll just keep hers up for him lol

Can a birthday cake be ordered at the theme park restaurants?
Im trying to think about Hollywood Studios to be specific.
Yes hoping to get princess cupcakes delivered and possibly ohana bread pudding for my husband

We did not bring presents with us, but the trip WAS the present from mom & dad. We did extended family presents when we got back, which helped ease some of the post-Disney blues.

Doing a celebration cake makes sense, as does having a few gifts to open on birthday to really drive home that the trip is a FAMILY experience, and just happened to be over a birthday, versus the trip being the present.

Single mom, my son celebrated his 3rd and 5th birthdays at WDW and will celebrate his 7th later this year. For his 3rd the grandparents came along and we brought all the presents and did a full party in the room. He was 3, it didn't really matter all that much to him, but it did to my mom. For his 5th it was just the 2 of us. We had already done a full birthday party with friends and family the week prior with all the presents, so I just packed a special outfit as a gift for the actual day and he got Mickey shoes, a Mickey hat, and a shirt that let everyone know it was his birthday.

This year it will be just the 2 of us again. We will do a small party with friends and gifts the week prior again, and he'll just get a couple of small things on the actual day. I'll also let him buy something at the park, and we are doing the After Hours party as well, so it will be a busy birthday. Capping it off, he gets to build a droid the next day and doesn't know about it. So he's more than covered!

DS will turn 7 during our Dec. trip. I do not plan on bringing anything from home.
He was able to pick which park he wanted on his bday. He chose MK because there is a toy he wants there. We will have dinner at Whispering Canyon, a cake I order from Disney and head back to MK after dinner to pick out a toy of his choosing. The next morning we plan to head to Fort Wilderness to try out archery. I consider all of this part of his bday experience which is much more than he would get at home.

DD will turn 5 during our April break which 🤞 should be at Aulani. I plan on bringing an Ariel barbie Sized doll to use to play with in the water and bathtub. She will probably be allowed to pick another toy at gift store.

When my DS turned 11, we took him to UO as a surprise trip. His younger sister knew and never said anything. We took new shirts and shorts for him to wrap up so he had something to open on his birthday. He needed new summer clothes anyway, and I didn't have to pack extra clothes this way. This would not have cut it at home, but he said, "you mean that the trip wasn't present enough?"

We came back to the room early and had a cake delivered and then we went to the Mardi Gras parade that night. I had beads and hats and masks hidden in my luggage, so I brought those out before we left for the parade.

He felt very pampered that day and now that he's older, he realizes all that we went through to make sure that it was a surprise.

Our DD didn't care about this because she has gotten to go on European vacations with me and she studied abroad. I've also taken DS on other trips. It all evens out in the long run.

Our sons birthday always falls during spring break.
Most years we give him a present that can be used during his vacation. We have a family party before or after depends on what's going on and they get toys and such.
He has had his birthday every year at Disney..
It's fun decorating the resort window with birthday stuff

Last Christmas we were traveling, Santa sent the presents in the mail and used instacart. It was a huge pain because I was putting together a box to mail home but my son wanted to keep everything with him... The airline charges more than FedEx so FedEx won...

We did our now teen’s 5th with grandparents and stayed at a Nemo room. The resort had just opened and we got it for less than $200 per nights an introductory offer (good old days). She was an only child back then. We did go to BBB (brought a Cinderella wedding dress) and then had CRT lunch (ordered a Cinderella Doll cake which was like $140) and Crystal Palace for dinner (1 sit down is enough, lesson learned). You can order a Cinderella glass slipper dessert (speciality dessert - email: WDW.Magic.Kingdom.Specialty.Desserts@disney.com) that’s about $15, but has to be added a few days ahead to your reservation (BOG has a cupcake trio dessert). https://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/order-cake/magic-kingdom-specialty-desserts/

We did buy the memory maker as it included a special BBB photo shoot with a background. The CM was not too kind and so those photos have a forced smile and awkward poses. Back then 2 photos with Cinderella were included in the price of dinner and grandparents loved having 1 keepsake. I did bring her a wrapped doll which was not opened when I packed it but if it’s something electronic or with batteries, TSA would probably open it. It was a memorable trip.

Grand Floridian bakery is delivering to resorts now. We had trouble packing our 6 inch cake (was bigger than a normal 6 inch cake) and bringing it back from Ohana (CMs don’t touch it and we had to ask multiple times for a box/bag they kept stalling). No one will store it for you so make sure your dining at the end of the day.

If Santa sends any presents the grinch will charge $6 per box for receiving and holding it for you.
