I know you can bring soda, water and snacks, what about beer in cans?

Seriously -- would YOU want to be responsible for alcohol-impaired patrons going down Summit Plummet???

As PP said, you may not bring in alcohol. But you can buy cocktails and beer inside the waterparks. We enjoy a marg and a beach chair when there.

Larry - apparently Disney doesn't mind as long as you bought the alcohol from them. :rolleyes1

They can make the judgement call on a guest being "over-served" if Disney is selling the alcohol.

Each Disney Park has its own "on-premises" liquor license. That is just like a bar. You are not permitted to bring in alcoholic beverages. Epcot also has an "off-premises" license you you may purchase alcoholic beverages there and take them out.

Really? Because we have never been able to take out alcohol from Epcot when we buy them there. We have been refused exit twice now.

Were you trying to take out an open container or a sealed purchase? Clearly people buy wine in there all the time and take the bottles out with them, but no one is permitted to exit with open containers of alcoholic beverages...just like everywhere else in Florida.

Just an FYI - Within the last few years Florida changed the law so that you can take home your half finished bottle of wine from a restaurant. The restaurant will give you a receipt in case you get stopped by an officer because there is a "no open container law" still (at least all of Florida except Key West - JK). So now you can order a bottle of wine at dinner and not feel like it has to be finished or go to waste.

Here is the relevant Florida law:

The 2010 Florida Statutes

Title XXXIV
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND TOBACCO

Chapter 564
WINE

564.09

Restaurants; off-premises consumption of wine.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a restaurant licensed to sell wine on the premises may permit a patron to remove one unsealed bottle of wine for consumption off the premises if the patron has purchased a full course meal consisting of a salad or vegetable, entree, a beverage, and bread and consumed a portion of the bottle of wine with such meal on the restaurant premises. A partially consumed bottle of wine that is to be removed from the premises must be securely resealed by the licensee or its employees before removal from the premises. The partially consumed bottle of wine shall be placed in a bag or other container that is secured in such a manner that it is visibly apparent if the container has been subsequently opened or tampered with, and a dated receipt for the bottle of wine and full course meal shall be provided by the licensee and attached to the container. If transported in a motor vehicle, the container with the resealed bottle of wine must be placed in a locked glove compartment, a locked trunk, or the area behind the last upright seat of a motor vehicle that is not equipped with a trunk.

To clarify - we were trying to take out open containers of beer. I thought the comment of "Epcot also has an " 'off-premises' license you you may purchase alcoholic beverages there and take them out." meant ALL alcoholic beverages. Seems to be just wine opened at a restaurant.

Last year we bought a bottle of tequila in Mexico. We were not allowed to carry it in the park, but we had to go to the front entrance to pick it up when we left. We were told it was because it was a glass bottle.

Also, the bar at Blizzard Beach has a frozen mango margarita that is to die for! :lovestruc

Last week I was told I had to finish my beverage before I could leave Epcot.

That what happens when the lawyers get together with the restaurant lobbyist. Make sure to eat your veggie and bread.

It doesn't say you have to eat your bread and veggies, you just need to purchase a meal that has bread and veggies. The wording is confusing and they make it sound like you have to eat the whole meal.
