They aren't going to bring it back. They already spent the money and it is open to the public. Perhaps trying giving the ride a chance? I actually enjoyed it a lot.
Besides that the entire area over there is going to become Avengers/Marvel land soon so get ready to say goodbye to that side of California Adventure.
