Bring Back the Pre-Shows!

I agree with bringing them back but I've always hated the fill in all the available space thing. I do not want some smelly person clinging to my front, back or side then the mad rush to the door when it opens. I like the few that are running now where you stand on the dot like RoTR and Muppets. I really miss the one in ToT and did have problems adjusting to the light in HM last time I was there.

Having watched that pre show multiple times I don’t disagree that it’s annoying, but for first timers I do think it adds to the experience and helps explain the back story. So for that reason I hope it returns.

I wouldn't mind an updated version, the way they updated the Mission Space preshow and basically kept it the same but with Gina Torres. The "decontamination" part and the matching is pretty cool. But dang that guy is just so cringey! The intentionally stilted delivery kills me. With anyone else (and better direction) I'd be fine with it.

I'm really sad about MMRR because I never got to ride it pre closure and people say that's a fun one. I hope the distancing being cut down will bring it back by the time I go for Memorial Day. Things seem to be moving so fast lately with health & safety updates and changes.

Probably not until social distancing is gone.
I would have liked to see them use the 1 group per dot, like they do in RoTR, but the stretching room probably

I think it's a timing issue. A social distanced stretching room wouldnt deposit enough guests in the doom buggy loading area fast enough.

While I love the stretching room for the theming, I do not miss being squished and DEFINITELY do not miss the frantic race to smoosh into the single file line to get into a doombuggy. We rode HM again Sunday and both commented how lovely and low-stress it was.

My solution to this (and other similar situations) has always been to hold back and let the crowd go in front of me, exiting the pre-show room last and taking my time so we just mosey over to the next area, which has usually cleared out somewhat by then, instead of jockeying for position with the masses.

+1

The other thing I hate about it is inevitably there’s at least one idiot quoting the whole dang spiel. We get it Chad, you go to the parks too much. Nobody cares, quit ruining it for the first time guests.

Checking in at under 5'0 I always got trampled in there with the kids lol. A couple of years ago we accidentally learned a trick, stand next to a tall guy with a big backpack on his back and then follow him in (the backpack made it where we didn't squish into him or invade his space). So much easier navigating to the doom buggies. 😂

DD commented the last trip on how we didn't have to search for backpack man :)

I do miss the pre-show for that one though - a lot.

We really missed the preshows so we watched them on YouTube in line. I showed the MMRR to some kids in front of us. They appreciated it.

Agreed! I love preshows!
We were recently at Universal, and with no preshow, Escape from Gringotts doesn’t make much sense.
When rides have storylines, they’re weakened considerably by skipping the set up.

Moving to Theme Parks Community to keep the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board on track with what is actually happening in the parks.

Preshows are a great way to stay occupied before the ride starts. If an attraction has a 30 minute wait to actually get on the ride vehicle and you spend 5 minutes in a preshow, it only feels like you waited 25 minutes.

Except Rockin Roller Coaster. That one makes it feel like you’re waiting even longer.

Ha! Oh come on, we got you a really fast car!

My gripe with that pre-show is that the best thing about it is the sound system playing Walk This Way. Holy cow those speakers are incredible. And a few years into it they set it so the volume drops to hear the poor CM telling everyone to walk all the way across. It kills my music loving heart every time.

Thanks !! As long as I hear .. "heeelllo there" , I am good. :))

Last week we were in there long enough to see most of it. The queue snakes a little in there. The timing will depend on if you can see the "Hello There" part.
