Bring a double stroller???

Hi,
I have 3 kids and we are going for our second WDW trip late September. My girls will be almost 5yo, 3yo and 7 months when we go. We have a double stroller that is a Graco duo glider (not a side by side). I am thinking we need to buy a single stroller for this trip, but my DH disagrees. I think he has forgotten how things were last trip. He thinks it will be great to hold all of our stuff and if our 5 yo or 3yo needs to rest she has a seat. We had an umbrella stroller the last time we went, for our then 2yo. Since she didn't nap it was fine. I know our 7 months old will need more support, shade and to recline since she naps 2-3x a day. So my question is....am I going to look dumb with a huge stroller at WDW??? How can I convince my DH to get a new one? Or is he right? Thanks for any advice.

What great ages for WDW! We had a double side by side the first time with the kids and loved the baskets underneath as well as a seat for both.

Last year we went and our four year old still needed a place to sit....you will not look silly with a double stroller....once we saw some one with a triple stroller!

Comfort is key and if you can avoid whining I say go for it!

If I could stick my 8 and now 5 year old in one this year (we go for Thanksgiving) I would.

I plan on bringing a double, also not a side-by-side. I got it free from my cousin and can't justify buying a side-by-side or second single stroller just for vacation. My girls will be 4 and 17 months when I go. So if you look dumb, so will I.

I am worried about bring it on a bus, but for the most part we will use the monorail to MK.

We''re bring both a double umbrella stroller and a single stroller. I'm sure you won't be able to miss us on the bus.

Your 3 year old and quite possibly your almost 5 year old will probably need a stroller also. Disney involves a lot of walking! My DD is 4-1/2 and I wouldn't dream of doing a week at disney without a stroller for her.

So, you could bring your Graco double, although I find mine very hard to push and steer with a larger child in it for a whole day. The benefit would be having quite a bit of storage which I'm sure you could use with 3 little ones. Plus, your 3 yr old and 5 yr old could take turns in it has needed and your little one can still recline to sleep in the back. Does your 5 yr old still fit in it? My DD is tall for her age and has trouble fitting in ours.

Or, you could bring two singles. One for the infant and one for the two older ones to share when needed. We did this on our last trip and loved having the ability to split up and it was so much easier for each of us to push one small stroller rather than the big heavy double. DH could take the older one on splash mountain while I took the younger one to do something else. It really worked out well for us.

Or, you could bring one single for the infant and rent another single or even a double for the older ones.

I definitely would not count on the 3 yr old and 5 yr old to walk the whole time. Their little legs get tired! Actually, my DD was 3-1/2 last trip and ended up napping in her stroller a few times even though she didn't normally nap at home. The heat and excitement wore her out!

We are going in August and I will either bring our two singles, or bring one and rent one. Our kids are 4-1/2 years and 2 years. I definitely want to bring one for the little guy, but I'm still deciding on bringing or renting for the older one.

Good luck! I hate dealing with the stroller issue every time I go, lol!

We will be bringing our double again this trip. My ds's are 19mths, 6 and 8. The little one will ride most of the time and the middle son suffers from flat feet and doesn't last long without riding. We are also taking my 4 yr old neice and she will have her own stroller. It is a very long day and a lot of walking. We have brought the double 4 previous times and there are many many other families with double strollers.

I would say go ahead. its a long day and alot of walking. I broke down and just bought a double umbrella stroller for my 4 and 2 year old for this trip. Its better than getting stuck carrying a very tired 4 year old girl at the end of the day.


I have taken my duoglider in the past when the kids were younger along with my double jogger to the parks. Now that they are older I dont need as much. There are alot of people with double and triple strollers all throughout the park! we go a few times a year so I need a smaller one that I can carry on by myself since I will be going twice in the fall by myself. I did get the okay with dh- I sold my duoglider and jogger on ebay. less room in the garage now

I would say, for your kids' ages, I would definitely bring the duoglider. You positively WON'T be the only one with a double stroller, and you won't care what anyone thinks about you, if you can avoid tired & whiny kids!

The only issue I see with the duoglider is that it is SO heavy. I have a hard time lifting mine into the back of my mini-van, so I can't imaging carrying it on & off the buses, along with the 3 kids.

For our trip in October (dd5 & ds2) I am bringing a light-weight umbrella stroller & am planning on renting a double stroller some days & leaving the umbrella stroller in the room.
