Just got off the Fantasy. One day there was an announcement that came into the rooms of "Bright Star" and a cabin number (8025?). Does anyone know what happened? The previous day there was a hearse on the dock in Cozumel.

Hope they're doing well. Not necessarily a death but a potentially serious health issue.

There are many different onboard codes used for the medical team, or security teams, and other staff, similar to those you hear sometimes inside a hospital ("code blue", etc.). I believe "Bright Star" is a serious (medical) emergency on DCL.

Unless things have changed, Bright Star is a medical emergency, and Rising Star is a death.

I was on this cruise and Bright Star was the call. We were told by staff that a person had died. Other info. was given but I will refrain from giving that info. out due to privacy concerns.

"Bright Star" is the announcement for a medical emergency and there is a special team that will respond. I can certainly see how a medical emergency unfortunately ends up as a death, but the "Rising Star" announcement would not be made publicly at that point. It is only made if that is the first announcement related to the incident. A potentially different team responds to each of the 2 calls, but once staff is on the scene they can communicate without the public announcements.

Yes, there is a morgue on-board all the Disney ships.

Oh, and all ships have a brig (prison cell), or room that can easily be converted.
