Brief Introduction

For those that don't know me or for those who do and don't yet despise me.

Just saying hi. I just started with the DLR board here. I normally hang out in the WDW section as I 'frequent' WDW a bit more. I've been to DLR twice so far, once in May 2005 and once in May 2006. I was hoping to make it this year, probably for the holidays so I can finally see the HMH and small world setups but not going to happen.

anyway, i recently decided to take the backstage magic tour from adventures by disney, which means i will be returning for a few days in april 08.. i'm very excited. can't wait to catch up on all the new stuff in the past couple of years.

I just wanted to thankyou for the Disney Acronym Decoder. It's going to make my life alot easier, decoding the different acronyms. As a newbie to the site as well, I'm not quite up on all the lingo. Thanks for being such a greyt member!!

well like i said, i've been to DLR twice before. i absolutely love it. i can't think about NOS without wanting to go back. there's a lot about DLR that I prefer over WDW, i just can't get to DLR as often

actually, although I had been to WDW a few times as a child, in my adult life, DLR was the first park I went to. within 10 minutes of being in the park for the first time, i had worked my way back to small world as mickey was coming out of toontown and we spent some quality time alone together (my avatar came from that experience). it definitely got things moving in the right direction for me.

I totally love the pics of Mickey! Where's is everybody? Were you the first one in the park that day? It looks like you, Mickey, and the gang have the park to yourselves.

DH and I made our way over to your stompin' grounds (our first trip to WDW) in January. We loved it and had an awesome time! We were only there for 4 nights, but we got a lot done since it was just the two of us. Next year we're taking our two boys (DS 8 and DS 4, they'll be 9 and 5 when we go) for their first trip to WDW, along with my MIL and BIL. It should be a blast!

Hope to see you around here more often, and share some more of your great photos!

if only WDW's looked like that, huh? one of the many things I prefer at DLR. and to read koenig's realityland, you'd think they figured they got it right at WDW.

as for the pics, like i said, i made a beeline for small world (truth is, i was using ridemax and that's what it said - so yeah, i pretty much rode that one by myself). i was able to get shots of the train station and floral from outside before the park opened so i just worked my way up to back there, i found goofy and minnie hanging out where the happiest faces on earth murals of ariel and mulan, et al were and then mickey was coming out of toontown. so for a while, it was just the two of us.

i actually pride myself on taking pictures with nobody else in them and i'll do some strange things to get them too.

i decided i needed to get HM one day, so as soon as i entered the park, i took the train over to NOS and beat the crowd big time

(that nice cm even let me go into the pet cemetery and made sure i got photos of everything)

i'm doing it through ABD as part of the backstage magic tour. it starts on 4/8 which is a tuesday and get to DL on thursday, which i guess is 4/10 and it basically ends 4/12 but i'll be extending it to 4/13. they make us stay at the GCH
