We have one day tickets from 2009 (didn't use the tickets we had to buy to get free dining.)

My DD is turning 10.

Is there a way to bridge her ticket? Will they let an 'adult' use a child's ticket to get in to lock in the gate price before we upgrade, or will we have to pay the difference between what we paid in 2009 to now?

I'm pretty sure they will just upgrade the ticket to an adult ticket at no cost. I'm not sure how using MDE plays into that, though?

yes if the ticket was bought when it was an appropriate ticket for the person. Then the ticket is still good. You can just goto GS with it and they will change it.

Ok. I've already added it to the MDE. Not sure when our next trip is going to be, but happy to hear this news.:goodvibes

Sorry, but the previous responses are all wrong. A Disney child's ticket that was unused is considered different from a child's ticket with no expiration that still had days left on it.

The no-expiration ticket with days still left on it will be exchanged for an adult ticket with the remaining assets, for no charge. The child has to appear to be the one who had the ticket originally. They couldn't be age 9 two years ago, and look like 15 this year.

In OP's case, the child's ticket was completely unused. Sorry to say, Disney will not turn this into an adult ticket for no charge. And an adult cannot enter thru a park turnstile with a child's ticket. So the upgrade must be done outside the park gate, where no price-bridging is allowed. OP, the idea about this is, if Disney allowed people to purchase child tickets at cheaper cost, and guests could then change them to adult tickets for no charge, there could be lots of abuse of such a policy.

Refer to the Ticket Sticky, Post #9. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

Ditto to all of this.

Say it ain't so!!!:crazy2:

Ah well, next step...how do I find out how much I paid for the ticket? I need to see how much it would save me to go before her birthday.:confused3

I paid $63. A one day adult ticket is $105, so I'll save a bit over $40 if I go before her birthday.

Does that sound right?

I've already attached her ticket to her MDE. Is there a way to take it back off and use it for my grandson?

1. I don't know if you included 6.5% tax in those numbers, but that looks about right.

2. It can be done. I don't know if YOU can do it.
You can call the WDW IT Dept 407-939-3471 or 407-939-7849 and they
can reassign the ticket if you can't.
