Oh, to bad!!! It's in Nassau but one of the bridesmaids lives in Duchess (Poughkeepsie.) I can give you her address and you can swing by and take a look!!! :goodvibes

I'm sure that she'd be thrilled that I stopped by just to laugh at her. ;) :lmao:

Sandra--let me try to explain:

These bridesmaid's dresses have a train on them much like a formal wedding gown. A bustle is something created by a seamstress that sort of 'tucks' up the train onto the back of the dress, so you are not forever tripping over the train. There are usually small thread loops sewn to the back of the dress, and small buttons on the inside seam of the dress, and the buttons go into the loops. Sadly, the bustle oftentimes just serves to make your butt HUGE. :rotfl:

Hopefully that helps, or someone else can explain better.

Oh, I know what you mean now! My host mother in Texas used to add them to brides(maid)'s dresses .
I'd rather deal with the train... really...

Yes, I had one on my wedding gown that made my rear look ENORMOUS! I look at the wedding video and each and every time I am amazed I didn't take out a table when I walked by..... :rotfl2:

I second the idea of posting bridesmaids photos. Perhaps we need a thread???

I didnt want to be one of those brides. I only had a maid of honor, one bridesmaid and a flowergirl. I chose the color for the dress and my maid of honor who was shopping with me for my dress chose a dress in the color i liked. She tried on two(both of which i liked) and it just so happened the one i liked the best is the one she chose. my bridemaid ( sis in law to be at the time) as far as i know also liked the dress. Sean and I did pick out the flowergirl dress which i know she loved since she's worn it again since. Shoes for the adults were to be dyed to match but my moh went shopping and couldnt find anything she liked in the dyeable styles so she bought a nice silvery colored shoe and asked my approval. At that point i told sis in law to pick whatever shoe she wanted. They were on their own for hair/makeup. http://www.geocities.com/freakybaby28/ourpage.html
I hope no one hated what they had to wear at my wedding.(comments welcome)

That's a lovely color - everyone looks very nice - no worries.

Finally a comment I was starting to get scared although if the dresses were ugly it truly would be the moh at fault. haha Unless of course it was the color that sucked.

I tried to look at your link last night, but Geocites was down. I really like the color of your bridesmaids dresses. :thumbsup2 Actually, it's very close to the color we had. My sister was my MOH and picked out the dresses. I didn't like it at first, but as I was watching all of the other brides around me picking out the same thing I was looking at, I started to like it much more. I wanted something different. To this day, DH hates the dresses!! I thought they looked great! Plus, I had my sister in NY, my aunt in PA and my FSIL in FL. I went through David's Bridal so they could all find the same dress. David's Bridal did a great job on their dresses. What they did for my dress is a completely different story!! :sad2:

My sister being goofy at the reception - she looked high and low for sneakers to match her dress!! She only wore them to the reception, though.

I think my all time fav bridesmaid dress was actually worn by my sister. she was in her friend's wedding and had a dress that was borderline ugly--it was pink kinda lacy stuff with a floral overlay pattern on it. Sort of a southern belle look to it. (Okay, it was incredibly ugly and we were just trying to be optimistic.:lmao: ) So, she is dealing with it, saying things like "It's not THAT bad" etc. Trying to have a positive attitude. THEN she gets to the church and is given the hat to go with it. :rotfl2: First off, she had no idea there was going to be a hat and on top of that it is this huge floppy monstrosity that is peach. (Please note at this point that I said the dress was PINK! Got that?) And the flowers. Oh yes, the flowers. HUGE bouquet of silk flowers. Oh yeah, you got your Easter lillies (it was July) and other enourmous flowers just in such a lovely cascade to be carried with the pink dress even though they were designed to match the peach hat. Oh, but not to worry!! :thumbsup2 There were also some lovely silk flowers to pin to the hat!

So, I get to the wedding. I had helped DSis with her hair that morning which is now totally covered by the lovely peach hat. She gives me this look like she is dying and I had the hardest time not rolling on the floor like this guy!:rotfl:
