I'm a member of another, smaller Disney forum, and I was shocked when I saw this in her TR:

Today was MK Day, we were up bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for our day. We arrived at MK early enough for the kids to see the park opening, which they loved. Our first stops were SM, Buzz, Astro Orbitor, TA, Teacups, then we headed to Splash Mountain, BTMRR and Pirates and HM; we did all this by 9:30. We meandered around the part some more and did some more rides.

As we DH and DD were getting on the Teacups I spotted a bride and groom, in full wedding attire, getting on the Teacups also. I snapped some pictures and congratulated them as they exited the ride.

I'm not sure if she was there as a photosession or not... I thought that those were usually done before the park opened? Maybe it ran late. I asked her what time it was and if she saw a Disney photographer with them, so I'll see what she says. It just kind of blew my mind that they would let a bride in the park in a wedding dress, so maybe she was just there for her photosession.

I doubt she was there for the bridal portrait...they are done before park opening. My guess...she probably brought her dress in the park and changed into it in a bathroom.

Honestly, why would anyone want to wander around in an open theme park in a wedding dress in the middle of the day, wonder if she went for counter service after her ride on the tea cups :lmao:

Imo so tacky, but whatever makes people happy I suppose :confused3

Well, the poster said it was after 10:30 am and it was Memorial Day Weekend, so definitely not MNSSHP! I guess some people just like breaking the rules.... I wonder if they eventually got caught.

Honestly I don't see what the fuss is :confused3 Disney CM's must have seen her and not said anything, or thrown her out, for her to be on a ride :confused3

I KNOW what it says way down deep within the memories collection t&c, but you have to dig even then. If you weren't a memories bride, or a member of a forum, you would have no knowledge of this rule.

I personally wouldn't have any knowledge of the rule if I were not a forum member. even when we had a dftw planned and our planner was aware of us having a in-park meal, she never mentioned it.

If she walked into the park in her dress and wasn't stopped, surely then Disney is ok with it?

If she had it in her bag, she has then had that bag checked by Disney SECURITY CM's, been seen by ride CM's and no-one seems to have made her go change or turned her away :confused3

I know this is not a popular view on the board, but honestly why sweat the details? She did it, she was allowed, why worry about the 'legality' of it?

Because we follow the rules and expect the same of others.

I totally agree. I cannot imagine dragging myself around the parks getting on and off rides in a big ol' dress. It would be hot, miserable, uncomfortable, and the dress would be absolutely trashed in no time.

meh, if she wants to do it then it doesn't bother me. I'm sure she got caught and was told that it isn't allowed eventually. I wouldn't do it (even if I didn't know the rules) because who the heck wants to hop on and off rides with a big dress? Also, it was hot as hell that weekend (I was there) I can't imagine she was too comfortable. If she got any pictures I doubt they were from Disney photography (I'd guess that they would at least tell her it wasn't allowed) and there were probably hundreds of people in the background. So let her break the rules, sweat her butt off and get a few crappy shots while trashing her dress! lol

I actually saw her and her groom, later that night after fireworks. I was really surprised to see a bride and groom dressed in wedding attire to be in the parks. I said congratulations to them but she didn't say anything back.....

I wonder if she had a ceremony in the park too (without CMs knowing)?

meh, if she got away with it then good on her... :confused3
