Oh, FCOL, there is no "right" or "entitlement" of being the honoree at a shower!
This is the kind of thinking that creates Bridezillas.
Showers are nice if you get them, but you won't die if you don't -- heck, you won't even suffer, unless you call being disappointed in the "gimme" sweepstakes suffering. And yes, a bride's parents hosting a shower for their own daughter is tacky, especially when that daughter has already been in her "new" household for nearly a decade.
