Has anyone, or did anyone use a traditional wedding planner like the type you might buy at a bookstore or wedding shop? Do you know if there is one more specific to our type of wedding? Or, did you just create one yourself using a 3 ring binder?

Just curious. Right now, I am using a 3 ring binder to put pages in from magazines, and notes, etc. Thought it would be fun to have a more traditional one. But, I am also planning and Intimate wedding, so I don't have as much ceremony/Disney stuff to plan. We'll do a casual Open House style reception when we get back home. So, again, not as much to plan as a traditional celebration....thank goodness!

Now usually, and I swear to it, I'm pretty organized.

I swore I'd be super organized with all of my wedding things.:lmao:

I have a stack of paper with restraunts, menus, ADR confo numbers, scribbles, cross outs ect.
I have my hotel confirmation haning on our fridge with post it notes of Tanis's number, Disney Photography's number and a mess of other things.

Then I have my planning kit, laying on top of my printer half filled out.

:confused3

Everything else I could ever need to know or think of, I just save to the computer.
In all the chaos of a mess it truely is, I still could find any said item within seconds.

Except of course the reciept for the tuxes, which I lost for about 4 months , and found while switching purses last week.

At least I didn't throw it out.

I'm not using one yet but mine should be coming in the mail soon. Theknot.com will give you a free one when you get approved for the knot american express card. You also get $50 gift card with your first purchase and all kinds of rewards. I figured it couldn't hurt so I applied yesterday...can't wait for my planner to get here!! :woohoo:

I couldn't find a wedding planner that I liked anywhere retail. They all had a ton of categories that didn't pertain to us DB's and, they didn't include alot of categories that I thought i would need. So my DF used a 3-ring binder & made me a planner. If I can figure out how to post some pics I will later.

Thank you all so much! I was hoping for a planner more specific to us DB's as well...maybe someone on this board could create one, someone creative...I know you ladies are out there! I am sure you could make a ton of $$ off of us!

I will stick with the 3 ring binder for now. I can add my own page dividers and decorate with fun stickers on the cover, etc.

The one I'm using now has the clear front where you can slip in a sheet of paper and I am using a sheet of the FREE cool Magic Kindom letterhead that Disney sent to me via a link in an email. I registered on the main site and they sent it to me to download. It's very cool!

Thanks again.

When we registered at Belk and Dillards, they gave us one. I used them...sort of. I didn't really use anything, other than a bag that I kept my swatches and clippings in.

i got mine from barnes and noble, it was REALLY good, and has tabs for all the different info etc. it is like a mint green color, I forgot what it is called, but it is a big binder, and i used it a ton! oh it also had pocket folders in each section for loose papers

I have a retail binder that I bought for me to write information down on, I have wedding software for guest lists, budget stabilizing stuff, and I have a filing box (the ones for important documents) for information from disney such as the menus and whatnot, dresses pictures, flower pictures, cake pictures, etc.

I'm crazy when it comes to my wedding.

I am using a giant 5 Subject Notebook, that way there is already paper in it to write stuff down in. Before I bought my dress I had all the magazine pictures cut out and taped in, so that when I went dress shopping I showed it to the person helping me and said This is what I want.

My DF and lots of other make fun of me, because I have it EVERYWHERE I go, but each section has a plastic two sided pocket to put all kinds of stuff in. It has helped me a lot - I'm an OCD list maker, so having the paper close at hand helps!

I was just noticing it's starting to get really thick...and I still have 11 months to go :rolleyes1 I got a 3 ring binder from the Jewelry Store (Robbins Bros...amazing), but like someone else said it just didn't pertain to Disney Weddings, cause most of the stuff in there was all inclusive.

I do have a separate 1 subject notebook for addresses etc, in case someone wants to throw me a shower, I can give them that, instead of forking over my Wedding Notebook :scared1: DF now knows he is no longer allowed to touch my book b/c my dress (and me in it) pics are inside.

My laptop and a Mickey Notebook are mine! (it's a hard back note book) Seriously, everything is electronic, so everytime I got my info from the planner, or from Rosie, I'd just put it in my Planning folder. And I stuck it all in my file that says eBooks!!! (That's cause my DF would NEVER look in it!) And so, it has grown. All my documents, and contracts are all there. So is all the Tux info, Dress Info, BM info. etc. Aren't computers great! And since it's portable I bring it with me anytime I need to do anything AND it makes it really easy to share with co-workers and friends what's going on. All I have to do is show them, instead of explain and describe! Well, it's working for me so far and I've only got a little more than 2 weeks, so I think it was much better for me than a big book. Well, good luck with all of your planning! :thumbsup2

Electronic is the way to go...I have an online favorites wedding folder with about 5 subcategories and a wedding folder in 'my pictures' on my laptop that has pictures of everything wedding related I'm using or considering using! :thumbsup2
