Just looking for a little help with printing my bridal party shirts. This is the first time I have done this and have done a test on ironing on 2 shirts and mostly they come out fine except when I peel away some bits of the transfer I get like a creased looking effect.

Any tips people? There are only so many shirts I can ruin :rolleyes1

No expert I have never done these before put used to work in a shop that sold them I think it may be cause you are moving the transfer and/or shirt slightly before it is ready to come away. If you iron shirt flat on board i.e. front and back touching each other it can move easier try putting shirt over the board so that you only have one layer ontop of the board and only move tranfer when you are sure its ready Also dont want to sound cheeky but did you iron the shirts before hand I think this helps.

Hope this helps, have fun.

Thanks for that Laura and no you weren't being cheeky at all lol. That pretty much sounds what I am doing already. I am wondering if I am peeling the transfer off before its ready to come off.

Oh well practice makes perfect:rolleyes:

Make sure and have a hard surface to iron on. Not your ironing board. I use a hardcover book. And make sure the transfer is COLD before you peel it off. I'm sure they will be great. We've all had our mishaps. :rotfl: I did a Groomsman upside down.

Okay thanks for that. I was ironing on the ironing board. I will maybe try our kitchen units or something instead and wait until they are cold until I peel it off. An upside down Groomsman lol, still think you should make him wear it :lmao:

Hope all is going well, I was just wondering if you dont mind me asking. where did you get the shirts from? were they expensive?

I got some from Evans (for us bigger girls :rolleyes1 ) for £5 and some from Primark and Matalan for £3 so they were pretty much a bargain. Then that way if you make a mess of them then you didn't waste a lot of money on them. I am just trying to locate blank canvas bags here in the UK.

Haha yeah. He has backed out. So I may give it to him :rotfl: Oh and also helps if you wash the shirts first.

Thanks will have a look in all, try Asda for your bags I am sure they had some plain thin canvasy type bags last year maybe not this year but worth a try. Also may be cheaper making bags material should be less than £3-4 per square mt. so roughly £1-2 a bag if even that. I could look into making them for you if you are not that creative and dont know anyone who could do them for you, cause I will be wanting to do some for myself anyway. Let me know if interested.

I don't have a kitchen counter than can handle an iron, so I went to Home Depot and bought a 12" x 12" granite tile for $4. I put that on the ironing board and it works great! :thumbsup2

What scares me to death is how well they survive the washing machine. I tried one and the results were quite bad. I've spent a lot of time making my t-shirts, so it'd be a shame if they turn out to be single use.

Thanks so much Laura, that's a great offer. I am not creative where sewing is concerned. Give me papercrafting anyday :thumbsup2 . I will pm you once I have a word with DF on what I want to do.

I am going to give mine a wash tomorrow and see how they come out, I would imagine they would be quote robust. :thumbsup2

I have seen some on ebay for £15 for 10 bags so thats quite a cheap price

That is a really good price. I looked on ebay as well and never saw any, maybe I was keying in the wrong thing.

Thanks again peeps :grouphug:
