.

Just seen the pic you posted, love her hair. Never thought a bout having it up with curls so you ve just given me a new option. Make up in that pics also very similar to the Viva Glam shoot as i know they used some pink on her eyes to bring out the blueness.

Loving it hun, keep the pics coming :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Ok found few more. Don't really like Mariah Carey but found few mag covers shes been on where her eyes in particular look fab

Told you id try my best to find as many pics as possible so hope this is helping

Also try to look out for the late fantastic Kevyn Aucoins work, he use to make over celebs & boy he was in a league of his own. Theres a few books that were published before he died that show all the pics. If you can't get any ideas i'd definatly try to locate one. Face Forward is one of many fantastic books released with his work in.

Sorry to but in on your thread but i am using beaute speciale on Wednesday so can let you both know what they are like when i get back

Yay i ve found someone else whos using Beauty Speciale :) :) . Hey hun you're not butting in, its great someone else has joined in. What look are you going for ?? Your probably aren't gonna go as full out as what disneybridetobe & me are looking for but still if you need any help in finding a pic for ideas we d be glad to assist :thumbsup2 . Do you know if both makeup artists will be there or did you have to pick one of them.

Are they doing your hair as well & if so what style are you going with

Yay! :Pinkbounc UK Bride, Please let us know how it goes! We're dying to find out! You're not butting in at all! Join us!
What kind of makeup and hair look are you going for? :sunny:

I thought I was the only one using them too everyone else uses Lisa. I found them the best at responding to my email when I was getting prices together and they seem very resonable. Not sure who will be there I have been emailing Ana. They are doing hair and make up for me and my mum and hair for 2 guests.

Not going as glam as you two wish I could but I am quite fair skinned as heavy make up just doesn't suit me!! Although saying that I went to the Mac counter here in the UK at a department store and they did my make up I asked for natural look and I came out looking like I didn't have any make up on at all. So I want some thing in between, just to be awkward!!

Leaving tomorrow for Disney so will let you know when I get back how they were.

Have a good trip and I hope it all goes well. Enjoy your day and savour every moment!
Who are you flying with? Virgin?

Lucky, lucky lady. Must say im very envious as i ve got a looong wait for my big day. Lol :sad2: . Love all the planning :cloud9: so im just having fun buy gettin loads of ideas.

Can i be cheeky & as how much they re charging for your hair & make up, id need them to do both me, my mum & sis (if she chooses to come).

Honey im pretty fair skinned as well so don't think you can only wear the "natural" look, thats what bronzers were created for :woohoo: . Then again im very used to full on make up so you really want a look that you feel comfortable with & that emphasises everything perfectly :)

Did you like the way Mac did your make up? If you took any pics of it pleeease post them, i love Mac make up  & they re artists always tend to do a fantastic job :thumbsup2 . You sometimes find that to create certain types of "a natural look" that it actually takes more work for the artist then going for a full on look, just cos blending has to be more precise etc. God i bet you're soo excited, im excited for you.

Don't feel like you re being ackward for asking for a specific kind of look, you ll find that they ll probably like a challenge plus its always nice to have the input from you as must people tend to say "do whatever you think". If you can try to find an example of the look you want, it may really help them plus that way you know how it should turn out.

What have you decided on as the style for your hair?

Well have a fantastic time, take tons of pics & best of all remember to stand back on your big day & take it all in. Enjoy & congrats :woohoo:

I don't were make up apart from special occasions. I was a natural look but still want to have the wow factor that matches my dress.
As for my hair I want to have it half up, half down and I want a tiara.

Can anyone help?

I used Serena James Nichole!! She was amzing!! I loved her!! She was so helpful and fantastic!! She did my hair and make-up. I wore my hair down because I never wear my hair up and I don't like the way I look with it up. Plus, I have long, very thick hair!! I put it up for prom and they had to use 350 bobby-pins!!! I was in so much pain when I got home! I said..."Never again!" Haha! :rotfl: I wear make-up every day...not heavy or any thing, but when they do your make-up...it's is caked on! :) You may think it is way too much, but it looks fantastic in photos!! I always wear lipstick and Serena asked if I wanted just a gloss or lipstick. It depends if you want a more natural look or not. I told her...I don't want natural...I want the make-up!! :teeth: I looked beautiful and loved what she did!! I didn't wear a veil and I just wore a headband type tiarra thing. :) I also had "ocean eyes" done that I found in a magazine because my whole them was the "aqua," "pool" blue color. My nails were painted that color, my groom's vest & tie, jewelry, my Mom's dress, etc. It was cool looking and I had shimmering dust under my eyes! Very pretty!! Serena also gave me a lot of extra make-up to take with me, so I could touch up after the ceremony for our photos! That was so helpful!! She also gave me make-up for the groom...a special powder to help with the shine and sweating! We were out at Sea Breeze Point in 98 degrees, so my hubby needed it!! It helped so much! He was willing to do any thing because he was sweating to death out there and we didn't want drops all over his face in ever photo...haha!! :rotfl: She was fantastic and the best person I used for my entire wedding! She was the only person with my entire wedding planning and event that went above and beyond! I was so pleased and impressed!! Love her! Two thumbs up!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Serena works for herself, which is great...so you can call and e-mail her directly! :) She use to work for Disney, but Disney no longer has hair and make-up under them, so she works for herself, but Disney still gives out her name. Make sure she is still there because she was talking about wanting to move to Atlanta. She's great and you can get a hold of her and contact her at any time!! She does not have a website, but I can give you her e-mail if you'd like it or number.

If i were you id try to go for a trial run at a makeup counter eg Mac to try to find a style that suits you plus that you ll be comfortable with. Especially if you're not use to wearing make up it ll give you an idea how it ll feel to have your face fully made up as even the "natural look" still requires a fair amount of makeup. Try to look in mags for pics you like, if you want one thing to stand out faclialy go for your eyes, you don't have to have dramatic colours just keep things soft & you may find a gloss on the lips the better option (plus it ll make your lips look fuller which is always a plus).

Try going to Lakeside & speaking to the makeup consultants there (i can recommend certain houses that are great plus that wont push for you to buy afterwards).

I can always give you make up advise as i work for a cosmetic brand as a make up artist so know the latest styles plus can always recommend colours etc if your unsure.

I personally love full on eyes, i wear colours that tend to be very bold as the house i work for specialises in Cat walk make up so our colours are bright & bold. I love an "oceanic" look on my eyes, i personally wear emerald green mixed with a turquise bright blue so my eyes stand out from amile a way. Not really suitable for my wedding day hence why im going for a real smokey look. Think the ladys at Beauty Speciale seem to be very qualified especially for the look i want as one of them works for Mac (say no more) plus they ve done loads of tv,film & other specialist work.

Don't be afraid to try something completly new for your big day, most people get stuck in a rut make up wise & think that they can only wear specific colours & stick to them religiously. Thats the great thing a bout just going a long to a cosmetic house they can try loads of colours out on you so you leave knowing exactly what to ask for on your wedding day. I sometimes get ladies asking for their eyes to be done & end up spending an hour trying loads of different colours that they never knew suited them. If you do need advice on who to try just let me know as they re are certainly some houses especially in Lakeside id stay well clear of.

Remember this is the fun part so enjoy planning :woohoo:

Hey Fairy Tale Bride,

Can you please send me Serena's email address. Thank you.

Feline Figero, Please let me know which houses to go to. If you have any tips to give: I have medium brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin with a fair amount of freckles.

Which house do you work for and where?

If you re gonna go to Lakeside i think House of Fraser would be a great place as its slightly quiter than Debenhams & Boots so you may find that their artists spend more time with you. Dior make up is fantastic quality, they re glosses are probably by far the best on the market plus they sell beautiful facial high lighters (what emphaises the cheek boes) & their eye shadows are a fantastic quaility so they definatly get my vote. Gurlain is another fab make that are in H of F so have a peek at them to. Not so keen on Chanel as i just don't think the quality is there, you tend to pay more just for the name.

My favourite brands are Mac , Toni & Tina & the fantastic Nars. If you can get to Bluewater go to Space NK & have a consultation there as they sell Nars. Probably i think they re the best makeup out there, love their colours plus they stay on all day as the quality is second to none.

I can list a few brands that i would stay well clear of but maybe best to Pm me if you want to know just in case anyone out there works for them, wouldn't want to offend anyone. I ve been in the makeup industry for a few years & have worked for a few brands, certain houses are notorious for pushing customers to buy products even when they don't need them so i can give you an idea who to stay claer of if you think you want a trial run beforehand. Trust me you ll go in wanting just to get an idea & you ll leave spending £'s.

It really depends on if you want something natural or if you wanna bring out the blueness in your eyes. Browns always work well as they keep the eyes looking soft but you can always mix the shades with a slightly darker shade of brown to give a small smokey edge, try gun metal shades as well. Blue will emphasis the blueness of your eyes. I have green eyes, when i wear green shadow it makes my eyes look huge. Pinks also look great on Blue eyes, its all about finding the right shade which a good make up consultant should be able to help you do. Don't worry about being fair, a touch of bronzer will fix that. Try to find a pic to take with you to Lside to show them the look you want, trust me i ve had some make overs from hell & wouldn't want you to get put off.

Thanks for the tips. I want a fairly natural look but I want it so show that I am wearing make up. But I don't want bright red lipstick and look like I've been using my mum's make up to play dress up.

The last thing id advise is wearing anything red especially lipstick, you ll probably find that they ll use a gloss rather than a lip colour. You may be best to stick with natural colours known as earth shades ie browns & soft pinks for cheeks & gloss. Really be sure of the look you want if you re worrying about going out there & letting your choice of makeup artists run loose. You ll probably find they ll do a fab job anyway but it always helps to add a few ideas of your own. Don't worry, you ll look fantastic :thumbsup2

I work near the city (london) so if you re near by you can always drop in to see me for tips & advice. I can try out different styles etc to give you more of an idea. Or as i said just drop by Lakeside preferable not on a sat/sun as it ll be busy & ask to have your make up done or if you can book an appt

Hi all

I'm just realising that I ought to start thinking about this myself. I used to be a beautitian and could do my own make up but I'd prefer someone else to do it for me. My Mum is a virgin vie lady so I might ask her to do my make up but I'll need someone to do my hair. I think there is a hairdresser at Animal Kingdom Lodge but I'm not 100% about that, but if I do stay there I'll have to ask about wedding up do's. If not I will have to try and find someone to come to the room to do it.

I'm sure whoever you girls get they will make you look stunning for your big day.
