It could very well be that she decided to help the guy out, so he could move on with his life, but did not want to jeopardize what she was entitled to.
there are always many different sides to the story, and we really don't know any side, but for a hidden camera of a meeting. Who is to say it was not staged?

One victim of rape not getting justice is one too many as well. As for the climate, well it has been there for thousands of years. And for many of those years in many places, rape wasn't even a crime. To this day, people assume victims were asking for it by the way they dressed or something. False allegations didn't cause that climate. One woman crying "rape" falsely is one too many, and sadly more than one woman has done this. The fact that true victims of rape are treated badly does not change that. It's people like this woman who contribute to a climate that causes true victims to be regarded with suspicion.
Her word wasn't the only reason he went to jail. He chose not to contest the charges. No one should ever go to jail based solely on the word of another person.
Evil people do exist.

Wow! Blame the victim. Sounds all too familiar.
What the hell was she entitled to? And for what? telling a lie? I have to hear this.
If she hadn't lied he wouldn't have to move on with his life!!! He wouldn't have had his life ripped away from him.
Oh I hope they hang her out to dry and if she spent the money, she has to pay it back for the rest of her life, and not some little pittance so she can have a good life, I want it to hurt.
Evil people do exist.
Well she'll probably be charged with something. She should go to jail for at least the time he spent there.

Looking at the one from Faux, they counted the 2000 cases where dna testing excluded the suspect being tested as false. On the contrary, that there were dna leavings to test suggest the allegations in those cases weren't false. Just that they got the wrong guy.
Just an FYI, you can't sue a DA's office for anything but incompetence and the bar is really high for that. It is illegal to sue a prosecuting attorney's office for malicious intent.
This is why the DA's in NOLA who knowingly sent dozens of innocent men to death row in are still walking around free and the DA's office got off the hook for paying out one red cent to any of the men when they were exonerated with evidence that the DA's office had and withheld from the men's defense lawyers before the original trials were held.
This is also why, even though it has been proven that Texas executed an innocent man, nothing will ever be done to the offices that conducted the prosecution.

You can sue the county because of the prosecution and raise a stink in the media. Of course if Corey loses, like Jeff Ashton, she might retire.
You can raise a big stink, and he can sue, if he can prove incompetence. You cannot sue for malicious prosecution. There are several men in NOLA who had their youth and live stolen from them, who were on DEATH ROW, and they will never get recompense for the crime that was commited against them. Texas has executed at least one man who has now been 100% proven to be innocent of the crime for which he was put to death. No recompense for his family either.
This isn't anything new under the sun and there have been many worse miscarriages of justice in recent years done by prosecutors who cared only for making convictions, even against men they knew were innocent, leaving the truly guilty to remain free and unpunished for those crimes.
