Listening to the doctors who haven't examined him, they are giving the stats you can find online - my friends' mom had an aneurysm and I knew they were bad, but looks at the stats - 50% die immmediately, then 50% of the survivors within a month. That said, there are some miraculous stories of recovery after suffering this.
I thought what was posted earlier in the thread was interesting - that the surgery/blood thinner could have triggered this - my friends' mom had elective cosmetic surgery on Monday, aneurysm on Thursday, and died the following Monday. She was responsive during the time in between, as they kept bringing her "up" - the problem is, bringing them out enough to be semi conscious increases their blood pressure, which increases the bleed. In her case, the doctors determined she had had the condition her entire life, but it stayed undetected until it was too late. Of course, the doctors who treated her for "horrible headaches" and the surgeon all said their treatments/procedures had nothing to do with it.
No, not necessarily that the blood thinnner in and of itself triggered the hemorrhage. What I was saying was that my nurse friend (who worked in a neurocardiac unit at one point) was saying that she
thinks what might have happened is that when Bret got bonked on the head last year at the Tony Awards (and that was a heavy set piece that hit him), something in his head likely got rattled around/jostled and went totally undetected...
until post-surgery a couple of weeks ago, when Bret was likely put on a few days of bed rest after his appendectomy, and with the bed rest came the blood thinners. The blood thinners would have basically just brought to light what it was that got rattled around in Bret's head and caused the bleeding to start from that injury. (And the fact that they cannot trace the source of bleeding now would support/coincide with the fact that they were not able to find any head damage last year, after the Tony's - because whatever it was that probably got rattled from that head injury, and wherever the bleeding is coming from now, is likely deep inside his brain/head somewhere that is hard to see/get to.)
So essentially, in a roundabout, circuitous way, it would all be traced back to the Tony's incident last year, but the blood thinners were the conduit/catalyst for
that incident to cause
this current incident, if that makes any sense. Of course, my friend was just speculating based on her experience in the neurocardiac unit...making an educated guess, I suppose. However, all the reports we are hearing now are not giving any indication that last year's Tony Awards episode had any impact on this current situation, in any way - even indirectly.
I don't feel that I have a 'right' to know anything about any public figure's health condition. I simply
want to know. But I know that most of what we are hearing from the family/friends/publicist, etc. is watered down for the public. It's not the full story. It's the glossy version, you could say. That has even been acknowledged on Bret's website by his guitarist, who has admitted they are not telling us everything because they don't want the press to distort anything one way or the other.
Because I knew Bret and we were friends, and I did work for him at one point, I have a personal interest in knowing what's happening. This is very distressing to me. He and the other guys were a big part of my life. In fact, I have a lot of people from the old Poison camp (back in the '80s) on my Facebook friend list now, so I
could probably get a more accurate recap of what is actually happening with Bret if I tried to or wanted to, but I haven't wanted to bother any of those people with my questions right now. So I will be happy if Donald Trump or anyone else comes out and wants to share more of what is actually going on with us than what is being released. I am not seeking out the inside information right now, but if someone wants to reveal it, I am going to pay attention!! Of course I would want to know if my old, old friend is in really bad shape and if the prognosis is not good, just as much as I would want to know if he will make a full recovery and be back to normal in a year.
