I figured since I am on here reading several times a day and have actually posted a couple times that I should officially introduce myself, Hi from Chesapeake, VA. :wave2:
I am a 51 years young stay at home mom (well empty nest mom now) and I love Disney and enjoy reading all that is posted on these boards, especially the Photography Board (I love anything to do with photography). I love the fact that there are others out there who enjoy Disney as much as me, too! Since the children are all out of the house (for the most part, they never are truly gone) and both my parents have recently passed away, I find myself here reading a lot. :surfweb: What I have found is that there are some very interesting, smart, crafty, and most of all very friendly people here not afraid to share with others :goodvibes
We have been to WDW about 10 times as a family and now I am planning a suprise trip to WDW for myself and hubby for our 27th anniversary in October, it will be our first visit without the WHOLE family, :yay: I have always wanted to be there for MNSSHP (been every other time of the year) and we will again be staying at the WL (our personal favorite)! I am a big kid at heart and there is just something about the MK that makes you forget there is a real world outside the gates. :tink:
So, with all that rambling on let me say that I look forward to spending many happy hours here with ya'll.

Hello and welcome! I'm in Dale City (about 5 minutes from Potomac Mills).

I love the photography board too - some really great photos on there!

Welcome from Alexandria! I'll be there in October, too. I'm the one with the dopey grin on my face in MK. :wizard:

Hi from someone who use to live in Chesapeake (Hickory area). The family moved to TN 2 years ago and I miss the Hampton Roads area sooooo much

Hello from yet another VA resident - Woodbridge. :wave2:
I, too, am an older young mom (55) and my son starts to college this month. I haven't experienced the "empty nest" syndrome in its entirity, only sporatically, like scout camp, etc. I love Disney and try to get there as often as possible. I am currently planning a vacation next summer to take my son and my DN28 (niece) and her children for their first visit. My DGN (Disney Great Niece) will be 4 and my DGN (nephew) will be about 15 months. Hoping to stay at the WL.
:disrocks: :welcome:

Welcome!! I've travelled through VA many times...

That's so cool that you are going to surprise your DH for your anniversary! I'm taking my DW for our 15th next March - it will be our first no-kids trip to WDW since before they came along!! We're excited about it. We've done no kids to DL several times when we're out in CA visiting family - but not to FL yet. We're flying my MIL in to watch them so we can have our little getaway. They get to go to both coasts each year, so they understand and are looking forward to time alone with grandma.
