Breaking NEWS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!!!! :-)

Now I'm a little worried. We leave tomorrow and our photo shoot is on Friday. We got the exact opposite advice. Our photog said not to wear Hawaiian shirts because they are busy. She suggested solids and even recommended we go with white - which I was planning on.

White should be fine and what we are going to do. My family and all of my in-laws had our pictures made on our local beach a few years ago which has sugar white beach sand. We all wore white shirts and jeans and the pictures turned out great.

we're back from our Photoshoot last week! It went really well, considering the kids had been up all day long and Dh really hates to have his pic taken. she got some really cute shots!

does anyone know if there is a way to post the pics before i get the CD?? I tried to right click them and it won't let me. :confused3

We get our Poly photos taken tomorrow (Thursday) morning and we are going to wear red...I'll let you know how they turn out. (Normally we go conservative with blue or light green...I personally don't like white for sand photos...) So I"m very curious and a bit nervious about how they will turn out...
Please post them when you get them... We are going in Dec and I was thinking of doing this too for Christmas cards. I'd love to see how they turn out.
I booked our GF photo shoot for 5p.m. on 5-22!!
Our shirts also came in that I ordered from Disneyshopping too!
I ordered the white polo's with black embroidered mickey for DS & DH, and pink polo with black tinkerbell embroidered for me.
We're going to look so precious! LOL! :rotfl2:
Great idea - matching Mickey Polos!!
If you pre-ordered the CD then it will cost you $25. Just make sure you bring proof that you pre-ordered the CD.:thumbsup2
Does anyone know the answer to this? I will be sharing a pre-ordered photopass cd with two other families that will be there at the same time. however we don't plan to follow the same itinarary. Can we all get seperat photo sessions? Can I make a copy of the Reciept so we each have proof ?

I almost bought the Mickey Polos last night when I was ordering some other stuff but sadly my shopping cart simply became too full lol so I moved them to my wishlist.

I was thinking of just plain Polos which I am sure will be less than the 17.99 each they are at Disneyshopping. Just trying to decide if a color other than white will look good. I always seem to have our "matching" shirts be in a white. I was looking at the light blue because of the poster above that had photos done with them but I am not sure they will look good with our complexions.......

Anxiously awaiting more photos to be posted.

I just bought me and my girlfriend matching polos from disneyshopping.com I ordered the white polos. Mine has Mickey emroidered on it and hers has Minnie. They are very nice polo's

My sister, best friend, and I are leaving Monday (5/12) for 12 days split between AKL and CSR. We have scheduled a photo shoot at Poly during our stay. As soon as I get back, I'll be sure to post some photos! We're very excited and planning to give my mom a framed photo from our shoot as a late Mother's Day gift!

Red shirts turned out great! Esp with all the green plants and white sand. I definitely suggest color!

The photographers barely glanced at my receipt ...guess they just wanted to make sure I had one...

I am pretty new, and had a few questions. SSR is our home resort and I would love to have some family photos on their grounds.
1. Have they started doing the photoshoots at SSR yet?
2. Where do I call to make a reservation for a shoot at SSR
3. Does anyone have any SSR photoshoot photos to post

Thanks in advance for any help

I would be 99.99% certain that the intent is 1 resort photoshoot per Photopass CD pre-order. The Photopass accounts are not intended to be shared among groups, even though lots of people do it.

That doesn't mean you can't make it happen somehow, but I don't think Disney's intent was to give 5 families (just a made up number) a free private Photopass session for the $99 CD purchase.

so much for Ivory Snow (99.99%). I was there on May 3, 2008 and they told me I could book more than one session; however, the first one was $25 but the next one would be full price ($50). (I'm rounding up here.) So YES, YOU CAN DO IT.

Now that you have two pieces of conflicting information, why not call the photography center directly to verify the information I provided and post it back here for us all to read the May 15 version?

Just bumping up to see if anyone who's had a Poly shoot has had the opportunity to access their pictures and would be willing to share? My 30 day mark is Monday and I've seen great pictures of GF shoot, but am still considering Poly too and am eager to see some shots from there as well.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Ditto! Our Poly shoot is booked for the 28th, and I'd love to see the backgrounds so far.

I did the Poly shoot and am still editing my photos on Photopass so I won't have them to show you anytime soon. (not sure how to pull them off before getting the CD...)

Anyway, my thoughts on the poly

1) I was disappointed in the backgrounds our Photographer chose. We had only one indoor scene with all beautiful flowers but not the water. He started to take one with the waterfalls but someone else was there so he moved on and we never went back.

2) We then went outside by the rental boats and got some photos there. They were good but DD did not cooperate (I can't blame that on them).

3) Our session was 10am and the photographer did about 85% on the beach. However, the sun was bad (too bright) so nearly all of our pics are squinting or someone has their eyes closed. I only have 1, maybe 2, photos good enough to use from the beach. VERY disappointed.

4) Then the photographer said we were done. WHAT???!!!

When you go to the photopass desk, there are all these super gorgeous photos with the flowers and plants and some cool shots in the hammocks on the beach -- we didn't get any of them.

Our best shot is one of DH and I on either side of one of the palm trees. This is a cool shot. Our 2nd best one is of the 3 of us playing in the sand but we are laughing and it's cute but you can see our tonsils! :rotfl2: OK, maybe not that bad but we have these big wide open mouths ...

MY ADVICE --

You need to know what types of photos you want in advance. Don't rely on the photographer to choose the photos for you. He had us running down the beach (nothing like seeing our flabby arms and legs in the pics! :scared1: ) IMHO he wasted about 15 pics of us doing this.

I should have spoken up and just told him right from the beginning that the beach was not a good option on a very bright sunny day. This happened to us at the Grand Floridian when we were scheduled for 11:30am....now I know -- no beach photos on sunny days before 5pm.

I'm sure the same photos at dusk would have been brilliant.

Also, our photographer wasn't really child-friendly. He was there to take the photos but didn't really do anything to make sure my 33 month old was looking at him.

All that said, I'm still glad we did the photo-session...I will go back and crop the photos to make them better (i.e, cut out the person on the end who had their eyes closed).

I have one super photo for $25 which isn't bad at all and I never would have thought of doing the hands around the palm tree with my DH. I was just hoping for more good photos and much more of the beautiful flowers in the lobby, around the pool and maybe the entryway...

Oh, and if someone can PM me directions on how to pull the Poly pics from the Disney Photopass website before I finalize the CD, then I will post some of our pics.

I have to say I agree with you. We did a photoshoot at the GF, and it seemed very rushed, and definatly not the 30some pictures others were talking about. We did a few shots of the beach, and a few shots near a flower garden, but that was it. None inside. I would have liked the hammock shot on the beach, but instead he took a lot of pictures of my dd playing in the sand. If I would have known that those were going to be a majority of our pictures I would have spoken up. We really only did four family shots, which was why I scheduled the appt. I ran around afterwords with my own camera taking pics of what I wanted. I should have just spoken up!! I guess I didn't expect our shoot to be over as soon as it was. We actually got a great shot taken by someone who was staying at the GF who offered to take our picture with our camera. I think that was actually my favorite picture out of all of them. Also our person wasn't very child friendly either. He didn't really know how to get our two little ones attention. We did get some cute pics, but I don't know that we will be doing it again. I'm sure the experience has to do with the person you get though. I've seen several people on here love their session, so don't back out just because of my review. Just learn from me and speak up. Tell them from the start where you want your pics, and maybe even walk around ahead of time so you know of some spots.

Oh, and the thing that urked us the most was that after we were rushed around with very few photos taken..he went on to say that his next appt wasn't for another three hours and how he was going to have some time to kill. The way we were running around you would have thought it was back to back appts and he was behind or something.

Hey everyone! I was just cruising the boards and came across this beautiful family who posted some photopass pics from Poly. I'm not sure if the below link will get you there, but the title is "just back from Poly...". By the time I get this info out, the OP may have already posted here.

Just back yesterday from a great Disney Vacation!!!

We signed up for the Poly photo session for Friday (5/9/08) at 9:00 am. They called the night before to confirm and to let us know to get there 15 minutes early. We got there right around 8:45 and our photographer pretty much got us started right away. And the bonus - we got the photo session for FREE!!! Not sure why, maybe a Dream thing? Or, there was some confusion at first that I might be for part of a cast member preview, so maybe it was just a human error and it was mismarked that I didn't need to pay. Who knows? I was happy to save the $25, but would have more then gladly paid it after seeing our pictures.

Not sure how long our shoot was. We started a little early and never felt rushed. We had one setup inside, one out front, two by the bubbling river, one by the tree, one on the hammocks, one on the swings, then some of my son playing on the beach (8 setups, 36 pictures total). I did ask to get one by the marina if the sails were up on the boats and we did go by there, but alas, the sails were all down so didn't think the backround would be that great. Overall, I am very please with the pictures we got. I wish we had a shot with more of the overall Polynesian visable as most are closeups with foliage and waterfalls in the backround and then there is one set up with the contemporary seen from afar.

I would definately say, go in with at least a location or two of what you want in the background, this will probably become easier to do as people begin posting their pictures. I pretty much let the photographer dictate where we went, and they were very nice spots, but looking back there would be a few I would have done differently (ie turning around the direction of the "contemporary shot" so we had the poly in the background instead, skipping the hammock shot on our stomachs, just didn't work for us). They had a sample book set up too by the photopass stand which I didn't get a chance to look through, but there would probably be great ideas in there.

My time of 9:00 am was okay, I guess, lighting wise (which was one of the things I was concerned about). But it was still very difficult for my 2 1/2 year old to not be really squinty (or eyes shut) especially around the beach. Not sure how to solve that problem, I think its always bright at Disneyworld.

I thought our photographer was pretty good with our son, so I think that is luck of the draw.

I'll post pictures when I get my cd. If you have any questions let me know.

Sorry so long, but also wanted to mention that our photographer said that they would be adding Beach Club shortly to the list of spots for the photo sessions and then Wilderness Lodge was on the list for the not to distant future. He might have mentioned another resort or two as well, but I was running after my son, so missed some of the conversation.

My CD is on the way, I should be able to post the pics from our shoot next week!! Our shoot went really well, considering DS didn't really want to cooperate. Most of the pics she got of him were candids, snapped really quick while he was acting up. Actually, those came out much better than the posed ones, as they really showed his personality much better! I can't wait to see them!

I had been so excited about the Poly photo shoot, but after seeing the photos posted from there, I'm rethinking it. While the photos are beautiful, and the family is too :) , I feel like the shots could have been taken "anywhere". There aren't many, if any, that look distinctly like you are at the Polynesian to me. The photos I've seen from the GF do look like you are there. You can see the GF resort in the background, see the Poly in the background of some beach shots..even the inside shots I can recognize where they were taken. I make my reservation next Thursday, and hope to see some other Poly photos before then, but I'm really leaning back to GF now.

did anybody do a shoot at SSR? can you show me some photos? Thanks
