breaking news on the 2009 Pin offers..

I recieved a PIN yesterday too and I've never had one so I'm a real "newbie" when it comes to this...question please......Is there also a 40% discount on moderate resorts too?:)Also is it possible to book this special rate online or do you have to phone a CM?
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure you can use it on the moderates as well. It just depends if they still have discounted rooms available, which they probably do. Although you could book your package online, I think you would still have to call and speak to a CM to have the discount applied.

Congratulations on your first PIN, btw! :cheer2: It was our first too.

I just got my first PIN Code, too, after probably a dozen trips and signing up for everything I could find. We are already going in December of this year, but I have a friend who wanted to go to Food and Wine next year, so perhaps I could use it for that.

Took me foreverrrrrrrrrr today to get the correct pricing booked using the code for a package.. but.. I did get a smoken deal for dates in August... I am hoping that free dining will be offered then, and I can apply that to the booking to bring the rate down even lower... Now.. to break the news to my Hubbie... LOL.. I have it on a 7 day hold... keeping my fingers crossed... (and my toes too):thumbsup2

You will need to be happy with your deal, you cannot combine two discounts together, only one at a time. Have a good time!

Thanks Mr. & Mrs Smith!:thumbsup2 Hmmmm...... now I have a lot to think about!:surfweb: :flower3:

I just added the code to my package! At first, she said, it looks like a "room-only" deal but she said, "Oh, wait. It's giving me a price for the package." However, there was some sort of difficulty applying it so she put me on the hold for quite awhile. I was sure she was going to come back and tell me that I couldn't use the PIN! But she came back and said everything was fine.

Also, there was no problem with me using the code to book my parents room as well. So, all in all, I saved like $200 bucks!

Did you actually get to apply the 40% off the theme park tickets too when you said "package" or was it just to the room rate that was discounted in your package?

I just got off the phone too and booked our August vacation using the 40% PIN. We booked a vacation package (deluxe resort, 5 day base tickets). The 40% was taken off the room rate, and we paid full price for the tickets. I said that in the past free dining has been offered at the end of August, would I be able to take advantage of that if it were to be offered again. She said I could only use ONE Discount, either room discount OR free dining. Since we booked deluxe, we saved $1200, which is a lot more than free dining. So needless to say, we're keeping the room discount!

I can't wait to tell the girls we're going back!!!!

No, I only got 40% off the room. I mentioned that I booked a package because people weren't sure if you would be able to add tickets and dining on or if it had to remain a room-only ressie.

For us, free dining would be a MUCH better deal than the 40%. With the 40%, we save $32 a day. With free dining, we'd save almost $80! But we are staying in a value. That probably is where the difference is.

this is so true, Mr & Mrs Smith...your overall discount/value for what you're receiving depends on what you want/prefer.

we had booked bounce back w/ free dining at a mod for next fall. when we got the 40% off code, we switched to deluxe w/out dining instead of moderate - so for us we preferred the deluxe at the better rate than the mod w/ the free dining (only b/c we just had free dining so feel we tried it)

Turns out we got the 40% off e-mail too! It was sent to an e-mail address we don't use much anymore. As it turns out, our TA says the AP rate will end up saving us more money because we're staying over a holiday weekend and those dates aren't 40%. So for those who didn't get this e-mail, you might not have missed out.

Of course, I can't let this code go to waste! Just another reason for 2nd (or 3rd trip) this year... *lol* Hopefully we can use the PIN code more than once.

You do know that they released an AP code yesterday as well, right? I'm not sure if it will help you but it's for select dates January and February, I do believe.

Yup.

Sorry, my post probably wasn't clear... our TA got us AP rates for January. I asked her about the 40% PIN afterwards. The AP code is a better savings because MLK weekend isn't included in the 40% off dates.

We got the Pin codes and are super excited.

We have always stayed in Values, but maybe now we can stay somewhere a little nicer....

Anyone know how much Animal Kingdom Lodge would be, in February, with the 40% code, just in a 'cheap' room? Not the safari view or whatever else the more expensive ones are.
Do you just go Rack Rate minus 40%?

So on a previous post someone said Value-$49. Moderate-$89...
Is this what everyone else is getting?

Albertan Mom, you take the rack rate and minus 40%. It's still fairly pricey compared to a value but it's a good deal for a deluxe.
