Breaking News - Disney Wonder to move to port of LA in 2011

Is it safe or reasonable to assume (I know, never assume!!) that there could be a land/sea package for the West Coast. For me, I find 3 days a pretty good amount of time to take in Disneyland and DCA. This may change when DCA is renovated, but it would be great to have a land/sea package on the West Coast.

Also John, is there currently information posted about the 5 day sailings for next summer... Was that next summer?

Yes, it is very safe to assume that DCL will use a similar land/sea model for the Wonder leaving out of LA and Disneyland. It is a perfect fit for both products.

Here is the info we have on the 5-Night sailings:

5 Night Bahamas Cruise
You can kick off the summer of 2010 on the Disney Wonder with a cruise that includes a stop at colorful Key West or one that includes two visits to Disney's private island paradise, Castaway Cay.

5 Night Bahamas Cruises with either two stops at Castaway Cay or a visit to Key West - May 30, June 8, June 13, June 22, July 11, July 20, July 25, August 3, August 8, August 17, 2010

Of course of you book these through Dreams Unlimited Travel you will get an awesome shipboard credit

DCL has one major draw and that is Castaway Cay... Wonder what, if any plans Disney has up their sleeves for the equivalent... How cool would that be??

Doesn't matter, John I want to be on the waiting list for the repo to the West Coast or the first cruise out of the Port :cool1::cool1:

Wonderful news! :thumbsup2

Hope there will be some deals for California residents like your Floridians have been enjoying.

Well this is cool!
This means we could do a cruise and DL.
We have never been to DL.
That is due to the extra distance and cost to get there and we are
worried as DL is smaller.
However with a cruise either before or after it could be wonderful. :thumbsup2

Put me down for the Panama Canal :thumbsup2

So what did they do last time they were on the West Coast - I assume Ensenada (WC equivelent of Nassau)?

I had the exact same thought when I read the story. I hope they do offer a land/sea package. I could do my first trip to DL and my first DCL in the same vacation!!

Nope... no stops at anything like Castaway Cay... only Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta.

We did the West Coast Magic in 2005... our first cruise so we didn't know what we missed... but now that we have been to CC 3 times, we can't imagine going on DCL and paying DCL prices without a private island experience.

I did hear rumors years ago about Disney's search for an equivalent along the West Coast.... my fingers are certainly crossed!:thumbsup2
