Afraid to open the closet door because stuff would fall out?

Mostly that all the stuff had fallen off the shelves and you couldn't really walk inside. The aftershocks just had me so unnerved and all the buildings on my street that had flattened like pancakes didn't help. i was afraid the 2nd floor would collapse on to the first floor. It did sure make me feel better when my building got a green tag.

I helped a friend move out of a yellow tagged building. The staircase that everyone was running up and down was barely attached by a couple bolts and was really rickety, and big guys were moving couches and other heavy furniture. People were running up and down to get things out before more aftershocks hit.

I don't think Jackson Hole would be the Best :confused3
I'm trying to work out the appeal really. Sure there is enough civilisation and it is easy to drive to. But it isn't an all rounder mountain.

I judge a mountain on having a good range or runs for all skills. Just because I CAN DO blue runs doesn't mean I don't LOVE green runs and bowls.

Jackson Hole is not the best for anything except for the off mountain experience. Taking sleighs to see the National Elk Refuge. Snow mobile tours to Yellowstone. Tons of wildlife. Other than that, shopping, bars and movie theaters are something any ski area can offer.

The skiing is top end. It has a gap. Great beginner runs for beginners. Then difficult blues. Lot of black single and double diamonds. But is doesn't have diffult green or easy blue. So only real skier families can enjoy it, casual ones can't they usually end up splitting up.

There are lot of ski areas with well rounded skiing.

Naturaul disasters, awesome.

I've been LTP for so long considering its daytime and a weekend.

Don't want to be there when the next truck comes in Dana?

No, I'm legitimately sick.

I don't mind being in the stock room. I'd rather be in there than on the sales floor, because it's easy to stay busy. It's just the ridiculous nonsense that I have to deal with concerning everything from the commute to the hours being cut. I'm tired of this crap.

Try to remember at least you have a job and relax a bit because of that.

When do you work next? Can you rest for a while?

You know what? I am so SICK of people saying that. Yes, I have a job, but when it's 16 hours a week at minimum wage and I spend a huge amount of time commuting and then money ON that commute and they treat the employees like complete crap, that doesn't exactly make life better just because omg there's a paycheck coming in. They scream at us every day because we're not getting 170 crates done in two hours, or because the customers screwed up the aisles and omg it MUST be stock team's fault. Then there's the bull about us being required to stay until the truck is complete (including one of the managers telling another girl that we shouldn't ever make plans for AFTER we're scheduled off), when HR says we're not required to stay. But then if we leave, they punish us by putting us on the sales floor with 10-12 hours, or threaten to fire us. Yes, I know I have a job and it could be worse and I might not have one, but I cannot stand this company, or the 90 minute each way commute.

I work on Wednesday. My hours got cut this week to 12 hours because I'm not on the stock team.

I'd love to get back into the hospitality industry and have been applying at hotels around town for months. I'd also love to work at a bakery, but I can't get a job at one even as a cashier because the ones I can find that would hire me (aka, the ones that don't require a candidate to be bilingual, which I'm not) are fully staffed or won't consider me because I don't have professional experience or a culinary degree.

Is there a way for you to do some extra courses in cake decorating whilst you're working?

If not, I hope you can hang on until something else comes along.

I'd love to tell you to quit...but I know what your father will say to that! :sad2:

Nope, because the classes are at times where I'd most likely still be stuck at work processing the truck. We're not allowed to request days off right now, because of the holidays, and we're also apparently not allowed to make plans for after we're scheduled off in case the truck runs over. I can't even get a second job because of their unrealistic scheduling expectations.

I'd love to quit, but I need the stupid paycheck. I only took the job because nothing else came along. Until I find something else, I can't quit.

:grouphug: Until then, I just wish you'd get moved to a different area in the company, where you might be treated differently.

Is there a premise near you so you don't have so much commuting to do?

Cherry picking time at my place....

IMG_0862.jpg

We got just about 20 lbs worth and had to leave another 1/3 of the crop on the tree as it was just overripe or mouldy. The birds can enjoy.

Not bad for a little house in the suburbs with a badly neglected cherry tree.

DH surprised me today with a Kindle Fire! Woo Hoo!!!!!!! I am so excited!

I got the tree up and decorated! I'll take pictures tomorrow night after work!

Now off to do some games and then to learn my Kindle!
