Is it possible to use a fastpass after the return window? For example, if I got a fastpass for test track and the return time was 10am to 11am, can I still use the fastpass at 1pm? I read this may be possible from unofficial guide. I know you can't use it before though. :confused3

Depends on the CM at the FastPass Entrance-some allow it, some don't. Everyone has different views on this, so use at your own discretion. :)

Yes, it is possible. We did it on more than one occation.

yes, absolutely. i just did it at every park and didn't have any problems ever. as long as you have one, you are fine. but just don't try to go early! that's a no no, lol!

The official WDW policy,as told to me by a Disney-MGM Studios Guest Relations CM,is that it IS acceptable to attempt to use a FASTPASS after the window has expired. However, the individual attraction CMs DO NOT have to accept the FASTPASS.It is TOTALLY at their discretion.Having said that however,I have done this many times and have never been turned away. :)

I didn't even know this...

We arrived about 5 minutes early for some rides, and sometimes the CM said no problem and sometimes the CM asked us to stand and wait a few minutes.

Thanks! As Luv4Disney stated everyone has different opinions on this. Its great to get a definitive answer :)

We had never had an issue with this before this last trip. We got FP for soarin, and because of a late supper missed our window. They were closing for the evening, and the Soarin CM said to bring them back tomorrow. We did, and the CM on duty said they were expired and we could not use them. I told him I understood, that we only came back because the CM the nite before had told us to. He ask if I wanted a manager, which I did not, would not have tried to use them except for the suggestion earlier.

(did I mention how charming I was?:)

We have used FP's many times after the time expired and have never been turned away. in fact we heard a CM explain FP system to someone they said, " you can use these anytime AFTER the begining time on the FP".

We have always done this. I didn't realize it was a problem until I read about it here a few months ago.

Basing my thoughts on what I have read so far, don't you defeat the whole purpose of the fast pass system by not using it during the alloted times? :confused3 I don't know how many times we have used the FP legitematley, only to find what we thought to be an inordinate amount of guests standing on the FP line. Shouldn't we all be following the rules, so that the system will be fair to everyone? And also not defeat the whole purpose of the system?

I agree completely. I suspect that there is no policy "allowing" use of FastPasses after their expiration time, but rather the actual policy is "Don't dissatisfy a guest, even if that guest is violating the rules, if it would cause more trouble than letting the violation go saves."

We have used Fast Passes after the return time on the same day before but I didn't want to take the chance with it on Soarin - you never know how strict the CM will be and since that ride is newer and ALWAYS packed I would think they would only observe the return time on that FP - better to be safe than sorry.

The Disney policy is to permit the use of a Fastpass after the time window on the pass has expired. The only exceptions to this are at some of the "shows" (Little Mermaid for example) where only a fixed number of seats and passes are available for any particular show. The only other time a fastpass may not be honoured after the time window on it is if a ride has been shut down for an extended period of time because of mechanical problems, in which case you may be asked to come back later.

Disney's willingness to accomodate the use of "expired" fastpasses takes into account people who may get fastpasses which conflict with a dining reservation, a parade, fireworks or other show that are offered only a limited # times per day and requiring strict adherence to the Fastpass window would leave guests having to choose between enjoying the ride and some other activity only offered on a limited basis in the park.

We read about this stategy in UG and have used it without problem, altho we've never tried to use a fastpass on a day other than the day it was issued

I heard it is possible.

To be honest, we never tried because we dont want to waste it and then find out we cant use it. You know what I mean? Were scared to take risks. :rotfl:

We have done in many, many times. I think just like ADR times they know their are people involved and sometimes things happen (an unexpected diaper change, stuck on ride that broke down, etc.) That said, we have been turned down at Space Mountain and have seen others turned down, not at the same time as us.

Umm, this doesn't make sense to me - I believe the fastpass will be honored that day, you are asked to come back later when the ride is up and running, so it WILL be honored?

i'll admit i've used fast passes that are a few days old. they don't look at the date which is printed very small. Just the time frame which is big.

I don't see that it's a big deal, seeing that many people don't even know about it, and I personally have never seen a FP line that was much longer than should be. However, be careful what you say around some of the posters around here. I got flamed severely for stating my opinion on the matter, even though I, among many other people, have been told by CM's that it is a policy to allow guests to enter the FP return anytime (on the same day) after the fast pass entry "window".

I really don't understand why some people get so defensive on the subject...
like it's breaking the law or something.
