Breaking Bonaduce

See and im addicted to dating men who act like this.

Well.. not addicted.. they just always seem to find me. I must have a sticker on my forehead that says "If your bi-polar I love you"

It makes me sad to watch it, it reminds me so much of my ex... ugh. But he is nuts. And i dont date those guys anymore.

It comes on at I think 11pm on Sunday night.

The first time I saw this I told my dh about it the next day and all I could say was 'He is ONE messed up DUDE!!" I feel sorry for him though. He is bi-polar and if he would just stay on his medication and lay off the booze he would be so much better. He LOVES those kids though and does everything he can to hide all the crap from them. I have missed a couple of episodes though. I do hope he makes it through the rehab and gets better. I would be scared to death of him. I really hope he gets all the help he needs....and he needs LOTS of it!!

Read his autobiogrphy. It shows the trouble he has had since the show biz success he had as a teen. He spent most of his twenties homeless and on drugs. He has quite an edge to him.

I like him for some reason, not sure why....just always have, Maybe because he point blank asks why does he get jobs, get paid for stuff he is just winging? I don't know if he has sought after stuff or of he is hounded because he is a bankable train wreck, and who doesn't like to watch someone who's life is more skrewed up than their own? ( no offense to us who have watched him...you know what I mean,,,shock value)He has pretty much escaped death several times, both by his own hand and others. He has continued to get arrested yet lands an even better job afterward. He has always publicly credited Gretchen with his life and with their marriage , kids etc. He had some major issues with his dad as a kid and I believe he at one time said all the working out stuff is because he was so fat as a kid and never taken seriously...not to mention he did not have a normal childhood, he was 11 or 12 when he was "entertaining" girls/women in his trailer on the set of The Partridge Family, was pretty much already an alcoholic by then. he used to stay with the actor who played Ruben Kincaid and steal drinks during parties etc. He is actually a pretty classic head case, but the fact that he can hang onto a wife, kids, be wealthy and land a TV show I guess makes him the one to have the last laugh. I mean, if he was an Engineer, married with 2 kids and a minivan, would you be remotely interested in the guy? Most likely not 'cause that's my life! :rotfl2:

I really feel sorry for him. I worry about the way their marriage and his life could end. He needs prayer and miracles. The poor kids involved. I think his wife is just caught up. Many people stay in crazy situations because of children. Perhaps she knows she is the glue that holds him together and because he is her children's father she doesn't want to see him completely self destruct because it would really hurt them. Mental illness is a tragedy.

What I can't understand is how their therapy sessions are televised! What kind of therapist/psychologist would agree to this!

Bwahahahaha!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: This guy is soooooo offensively ugly that I cross my legs very hard whenever I see him. :rotfl2:

Wow, that's cruel. Criticizing his behavior is one thing, he can control that, but he can't help how he looks. Would you approve of your kids calling others ugly?

One that wants to be on TV. I have to agree with Danny, he seems rather useless.

Last night the guy(therapist) went into private therapy with Danny and that part was NOT taped. He said something about ethics and with that part being about him going into rehab. They wrote a little info on the screen about Danny deciding to go into rehab. The rest of the things are agreed to being on camera by Danny and Gretchen as well as the Dr.

I don't have much hope for this rehab stint. Especially since he said they could turn around and go home. I just don't think he is serious. It will probably take Gretchen actually taking the kids and leaving for him to get it-if he doesn't do something worse first.

When is this show on and what station/time? Thanks!

It's on VH1

Check their website because they replay the shows during the day, during the week- sometimes at 1pm ish. The new shows are on Sunday night.

I am addicted to this show myself. I am on maternity leave and the first show I saw was the one with the strippers also. I have seen some stuff in my life, but my jaw literally dropped at this show. I almost wanted to cry for the guy.
As for Gretchen, don't you think she is in it for the money? They have a nice home, etc. She clearly doesn't love the guy and doesn't want him touching her (can't blame her there) so why stay? After the shenanigans he pulled the night of her party, why would any woman stay? :confused3
But, as others have said, and he says himself in the opening of the show, he is a car wreck and people stop to watch them, sick as they are!

I think he actually said that to Gretchen in one of the episodes. Something to the effect of 'I know you won't leave me because you don't have to work and you get everything you want and can live in a mansion.' It's just so sad to watch.

Can someone bump this thread and let me know when they have a marathon on of this show? I've only seen 2 episodes. I'd love to sit and watch all of them.

Ok, I've been watching this for a little while now and have always been very sympathetic with Gretchen, but after the last show, I'm not so sure. When she was on her way to see Danny in rehab and participate in some of his sessions, she was making comments to the camera that she hoped it wouldn't take too long because she had things to do. It just sounded so cold. :confused3

OMG!!! I saw that clip and thought the SAME thing!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

If I remember correctly her family has money as well. I don't think she would be living in poverty if she left him. Not to mention, wouldn't she get child support, possibly alllimoney?

I used to love listening to Jamie and Danny on the radio and was so sad to hear about him being let go. Now to watch this show is so upsetting to me. I don't know why but I guess when you listened to someone everyday in your home and car, you kinda feel like you know them. It's just so sad. I feel sorry for Gretchen because she seems to always be crying!

I wonder sometimes though how much of it is just for the cameras. He kept threatening to go to the hotel room where the strippers were but never actually did. It's crazy though and I wonder where it'll all end? :confused3 :guilty:

I used to like him, too. I loved all the guys that were on "The Other Side". I thought that was a great show (I don't even like "The View", but I liked this male version---was sad to see it go).

I hope Danny can get his act together. He really needs help.
