Breaking Bonaduce

Haven't seen it as I don't have the channel. I thought he had cleaned up his life.

They seemed happily married. Must have been the editing on babystory.

The psychotic behavior also explains why he allowed his wife to give their children the legal first names of Duke and Duchess (I think that is what it was).

I've never heard of it. I assume this is some reality show about Danny Bonaduce?? It sounds sad.

It's very sad, and I won't watch it again. I just happened to be flipping through the channels and came across it.

They both need help.

His DD asked him about the scars on his wrist and he said it was from putting in a window. His DD did not buy it right away. She questioned him about the windows. He lied very well....but I still think that little girl knew more about it.

Very, very sad.

I am addicted to this show, although it is painful to watch. I saw the espisode last night when Danny basically said to the DR--"you know how I said I wanted to do this show to help other people who may be going thru these issues, well, I lied. I really just want the paycheck".

I have family members/friends with bipolar disorder. I've also watched Danny since Partridge Family days. He is not that good of an actor--this is real. Bipolar manifests itself in many ways, including the thoughts of the person that "I am the most important person in the world, and I can help all people." Then, as the novelty of helping others wears off, and the attention isn't focused on the person, irritiablity insues. The focus must be on the person, not on the people around them. Also, alcohol, drugs, and exercise are methods used to self-medicate.

I personally think the producers, and even the doctor involved are astounded by the behaviors. I think they knew there were issues, but not to this degree. I also think they think it makes good television. I guess I have to agree, but when I really think about it, it makes me feel a little sick.

It's hard for me to feel at all sympathetic towards him. He is such a selfish, abusive, manipulative, self-important, narcisstic, dishonest, angry man. Compared to the lives that so many people lead each day, with real heartache and tragedy and yet they keep going and act human, what makes him so special that he thinks he can treat everyone around him that way? He is an attention *****, too.
My DH set the DVR to record all new shows, and it hasn't recorded one ep. I think it put its foot down.

I just watched one of the episodes for the first time last weekend. Dang it, I forgot what night it's on, so I guess I missed the new episode, didn't I? What night is it on, by the way?

His wife needs to get out and get as far away as possible before he kills her.

I never saw the show or even heard of it but the funny thing is in July 2004 we were at the HRH the same time as he and his family. I thought he had cleaned up his act because he spent a lot of time playing with his kids (more time than his wife spent actually) and seemed somewhat normal. I guess you never know!

Man, this guy is scary. I just saw the whole suicide attempt episode. Man oh man. That chick needs to get the hell out of Dodge before he kills her!

I admit I watch the show (although my DFi will leave the room because he thinks it's so stupid). I find other peoples' issues fascinating apparently. One thing that bothers me about him is that he says things like he's proud of them. Like "I work out a lot. I go to THREE different gyms so they don't know how much I work out" (it's like he's saying, Look at me! I'm such a stud! I work out my hot body and I know all the ladies are lovin' it :crazy2: )

Hello, world, here the song that we're singin'
C'mon get happy!
A whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy!

We had a dream, we'd go travelin' together,
We'd spread a little lovin' then we'd keep movin' on.
Somethin' always happens whenever we're together
We get a happy feelin' when we're singing a song.

Trav'lin' along there's a song that we're singin'
C'mon get happy!
A Whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy!

Hmmmmmm....I don't think that's his theme song anymore. Maybe he's still trying to live up to Keith. He was always so much cuter.

I hate this show. More reality crap about a rich guy with marriage problems. Alot of people have 'em.

-but i watch it anyways-

You forgot one: UGLY!!!! :scared1: :faint:

Bwahahahaha!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: This guy is soooooo offensively ugly that I cross my legs very hard whenever I see him. :rotfl2:

I've seen it too........ :scared1: OMG what would Ruben say????

The other sad thing is that it is on right after (or is it before...) My Fair Brady. Another big huge OMG!!

I think it's absolutely nuts too, and it is obvious he is doing it for the paycheck like he said. You have to remember that as much steroids is he is taking leads to a lot of his aggression problems I think. It certainly doesn't help them. I also saw a few of those shows another poster was talking about with Dick Clark, and they were entertaining.

He and his wife have been together FOREVER I think and it's almost like she is immune to his shenanigans. I don't think that she will leave him.

It's a shame he has fallen off the wagon.

Its like watching a train wreck, a caged animal, and plastic sugery on tv. you know its wrong, stinky and sorta gory. but you just can't look away!

I did not read all of the posts so I apologize if this was already said BUT she is not number at number one on the sainity scale either. She married him ON the first date! The fact that she is still with him only tells me she is in to psychological pain.

He's a disaster. She's a jerk for having kids with this nut.In 5 years don't be surprised to be watching his(by then) teenage kids
unravel on a reality show.

I hadn't been watching this show but I just caught the episode with the strippers. My first reaction after seeing this show was someone is going to end up dead before this is all over.

It's one of those shows that is really hard to turn away from even though it makes you feel horrible to watch. It really is more horrifying then entertaining. It's like watching someone self-destruct in front of your eyes.

I would not be at all surprised to hear in the near future that he had been successful in another suicide attempt or that he had killed his wife. I pray for him and especially for his family... :(

I didn't get that take on that scene - what I "heard" was that he was telling the Dr. just how obsessive he is about everything he does, whether it be drugs or working out.

i really can't look away. One night very late they ran 4 episodes and i sat up til 3am watching it.
