I currently have a ADR for Ohana Breakfest Buffet - but my husband looked at the menu and isn't all that impressed (donsen't like the homestyle serving) he said he would rather try the Chef Mickey breakfest. How is it? I tried to do a search but the search function wasn't working. Is the food good with a good selection?

:wave2: We have been to both 'Ohana and CM for B-fast. Foodwise, I would definitely say 'Ohana. Everything we had was fresh, hot & yummy-and whenever you want more of something the server brings it to you. Some may call that lazy-I call it relaxing! ;) Here is what I wrote in our review of Breakfast at 'Ohana:

Breakfast was yummy! Everything was so fresh and hot. They first bring out coffee, tea or milk and a refreshing & yummy tropical juice and two kinds of warm bread (one pineapple) with whipped nut butter. Then came the "skillet" with scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon & sausage-all cooked perfectly!-and Mickey waffles and warm buttermilk biscuits. Also served is a fruit plate-sweet and delish! A great way to start a day in Disney!

Was there more selection at Chef Mickey's. My husband is cheap he wants the most selcection possible.

Yes, there is more offered at CM.

There is also a great B-fast buffet at Crystal Palace. This is from my review of CP:

KID’S STATION: Breakfast Pizza, pancakes & Pooh, Tigger & Piglet waffles

COLD STATION: Granola, dried fruits, cereal, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, strawberries & whipped cream, bagels, muffins, donuts, pastries, peanut butter, jellies & marmalades, whipped butter, cream cheese, smoked salmon

HOT STATION: Made-to-order omelettes, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, cheesy breakfast potatoes, hash browns, sausage, bacon, corned beef hash & cornbread casserole, vegetable frittata, breakfast lasagna (fruit & custard), puffed french toast, pancakes, grits, oatmeal, sausage gravy & biscuits

I preferred both CM and CP to Ohanas for breakfast. I didn't care for the pre-plated serving either.

Between CP and CM - I'd go CP for sure!

We tried Crystal Palace last year and loved it, this year we are going to try Tusker House for breakfast buffet..

We haven't tried the breakfast at O'Hana yet but are going there in April because we couldn't get ADR's for Chef Mickey's until about 11 am. But the CM that was making my ADR's told me that she and her husband go to O'Hana for breakfast all the time because they like it so much better than Chef Mickey's. Based on what I know Chef Mickey's does have a bigger variety of breakfast foods. We are doing Chef Mickey's for dinner this trip though since it's not something we've ever done before.

Just what does "pre-plated" mean in Disney terms?

Another vote for Cape May's Breakfast (character) buffet. It has a wide variety of items and the character interaction is great!

Pre-plated means that you are served a plate that is already filled with their standard items. Does that make sense?

They bring the food right to your table. At Ohana they bring bread and fresh fruit first, then the skillet of hot stuff and the mickey waffles come seperately. The juice is worth going for all in itself!
