For just a smidge over £100 I can upgrade me my dd (5) my cousin and her son (11) and baby to the New York Hotel in October and I am seriously considering it.

Not that this has to do with breakfast but just thought I would mention it.

But the breakfasts, do people really (ahe)m take stuff to snack on through out the day like make up some sandwiches etc? Do you sneak them out or do you just be as bold as brass and carry them out with you.

Reason I ask is my daughter never ate well on our last visit she has allergies and is extremely faddy due to this, she just loves fruit and it was so hard to come by at disneyland. But she devoured the breakfasts it has always been her best time to eat. At sequoia lodge they had little pots of fruit puree alongside the yoghurts I am wondeirng if it is possible to sneak a couple of those pots out each morning!

It shouldn't be a problem at all Tetley - I just wrap up what we want to take with us from breakfast into serviettes, then into sandwich bags I take with me in my bag. Pop the lot into my bag before we leave the restaurant, and we're set for snacking during the day (the croissants tend to be a bit bashed by the time we get them out to eat though :rotfl: ).

My DD (15) loved those little pots of fruit purée too! Having trouble finding anything like them now that we are back home, I've had to resort to buying her baby food again :rotfl2:

I take it that it is not an issue if one parent goes down and collects some munchables for breakfast while the other attempts to get a hyper 2 year ready to hit the park?

I don't think it will be a problem. We have even gone down before my BIL was ready & he joined us later without any hotel ID but we were sitting by the door at the time in case there was a problem.

I thought you weren't allowed to take food into the Parks? I was sort of hoping to do this myself - eat a big brekkie, take some "breakfast sandwiches" with us (:rolleyes1) and then have an evening meal in the Parks. I'm just a bit worried that our bags will be checked and the food taken out. Has anyone got any experience with this?

Thanks.

The 'no picnic' rule seems to have gone by the board. We saw people having full-on picnics last week and have never seen anyone having their food removed.

I've always had food and plastic bottles of juice in my bag, my bag has always been checked, and I've never had any of the food/drinks removed from it.

We found if we had a big breakfast we didn't really need anything other than a piece of fruit or a cereal bar mid-day, especially if having a big meal in the evening. We brought the cereal bars and fruit with us, but I did see people walking out with a banana or apple in their hands (and no doubt stuff in bags and buggies as well). First time we did make rolls to take into the parks but the kids never fancied them at lunchtime so it was a waste of time, effort and food!

ETA forgot to say, HNY is a lovely hotel and much nearer the parks so worth the upgrade just for that
