Breakfast

I know this is a very subjective question but what does everyone do for breakfast when considering being at the gates for rope drop? We love a big sit down breakfast but it seems most breakfast ADR's are at or after rope drop. Currently got a breakfast ADR for Tusker House on our AK day. Staying at POR and figured we can do one or two days in the room (aghhh, cereal/pastries) but hope others might shed some light on alternatives. We're early risers and no kids.

Or hit the park, and after a bit go to a QS, like Sleepy Hollow or Main Street Bakery in MK, or Starring Rolls in HS. Sunshine Seasons has breakfast in Epcot.

The OP doesn't say when she is going. Sunshine Seasons will stop serving breakfast when Soarin closes for its refurb.

DH enjoys a good breakfast as well. I can usually persuade him to settle for an in room breakfast every other day, And he doesn't mind a bounty platter at the resort food court once or twice. Most of the resort TS restaurants that serve breakfast open at 7:30am. PPO breakfasts in the parks start at 8:00. That's enough time, usually. I'm more a fan of having a later breakfast around 10:30 if he wants breakfast in a park.

Oh no, appreciate the suggestion (since that's what I asked for) but breakfast is what gets us going and its a must before our day starts. We'll be there Feb 20 - 27th.

A few minutes ago I was able to get a 8am ADR at Be Our Guest on one of our days so I now have two breakfast ADR's prior to gate open. Figured the resort TS will be a bit crazy with everyone doing breakfast and then jumping onto the buses so if I can avoid that I will.

I've been staying at POFQ where the food court starts serving hot breakfast at 7 am. That's what I do and I've done fine getting to RD on a normal 9 am opening. I don't know how POR's food court is, but I haven't found POFQ's to be crowded that early.

We only do a sit down breakfast when we are NOT rope dropping. Too unpredictable to guarantee what time you will be out. I always eat breakfast... Various others in my family can skip it or eat a bag of dry cereal and call it good. Not me. We order fruit from garden grocer, along with preferred cereals and milks. I go to my resort beverage station and pick up coffee. I have happily discovered that most food courts serve mickey waffles (including allergy friendly waffles), and I will often get an order or 2 to split with my kids. I also have learned to plan ahead and pick something up, say at the France bakery, the night before. (I can't stand the food court pastries!) Finally leftovers often make great breakfast (think caramel apple!)

What we have done in the past and will be doing in the future is grab something light in the morning before heading to the parks (a pastry and juice or something along those lines, the Mill at POR has some tasty options) just to hold us over and book a late morning breakfast ADR, sometime between 10:30 and 11:30 depending on the park and restaurant. This gives us a chance to still make it to rope drop and have a big breakfast (ok, more like brunch) and if the restaurant is only open for breakfast and dinner the meal tends to be much quieter and more relaxed. Then by the time we are done with our brunch the lines are usually slightly lighter since everyone else is stopping for lunch at that time.

There's not much way around missing park time if you have a sit down breakfast. We eat something small in the room and then eat an early lunch. If just have to make the choice.

I'm an early riser and have to eat something for breakfast but rarely a big one. I usually get up around 5:30 and take an early morning walk/jog around the resort, go back to the room and enjoy a cup of coffee and a shower. By then the food court is usually open so I go over and get a child's breakfast, whatever egg combination they have since I need the protein. I don't do rope drop on purpose but I'm quiet often there just because I've been up and have eaten and am ready so why not. On the few mornings I don't eat breakfast first, I find an egg sandwich of some sort at the parks, most of them have them. I'll do my first ride then grab the sandwich.

My family also enjoys breakfast and likes to fuel up before we hit the parks. We stay at POP but we always have a bounty platter, waffles or french toast at the food court and sit there and enjoy it before hitting the parks. We always make it for rope drop. The food courts can get busy in the morning but for us its worth it to not have to stop again before lunch. We used to stay at POR and loved the food court there. It can get busy but never overwhelming. I would try the TS restaurant at POR if you want a true site down, I bet they won't be as busy as you think first thing in the morning.

We also like to make a PPO ADR or two but turn sit down breakfasts get a little pricey for the week.

Boatwright isn't open for breakfast. The only resort TS restaurants that are open for breakfast are at the deluxe resorts or at Las Ventanas at CSR..

I'm a huge breakfast person. This year we're doing a breakfast at Cape May. We also booked an ADR for Kona and plan on trying breakfast at Wolfgang Puck Express.

Magic Kingdom doesn't really have a breakfast option outside of BOG.
EPCOT - Sunshine Seasons (before Soarin' refurb) or the French Bakery
DHS - Writer's Shop, Starring Rolls (neither have a real egg option, though)
- If you're in the DHS/EPCOT area, go to the Boardwalk Bakery. They have egg sandwiches, etc.
Animal Kingdom - we loved Tusker House

If we do a sit down, its either super early, or super late. I try not to miss those first valuable 2 hours in the parks, so either book before park opening, or a late buffet at 1900 park faire, Tusker house, or CP. Also enjoy Sunshine seasons, Sci fi, and anxious to try the new Narcoosee brunch. Breakfast is DH favorite, and lots of times we take the boat to Capn Cooks for tonga toast after a quick couple rides on 7DMT! :)

We usually take Clif bars or something similar and eat while we're waiting on the bus. When we do a sit down breakfast, it's for a character meal and we plan to do it at a resort. We're doing the Ohana breakfast at Poly and Cape May at BC.

I am a breakfast person normally, but I do not have to have a large breakfast every day. I usually take some cereal or muffins for in the room, but if those are not enough, I just hit the QS at my resort. If I want a TS breakfast, I try for resorts that open early and are near the parks or I plan a later breakfast.

When I stay at FW, I might try to get to Trails End before going to MK and can usually still be at MK within 15 minutes of a non-EMH opening. I have also done Cape May for breakfast and still been at DHS as they were opening.

I've gone to doing breakfast at 10 am or so. That way we can hit the parks for rope drop and get a lot done, and then have a nice breakfast.

Not sure if you were simply stating your personal preferences, but you omitted a few places.

Both Akershus and Garden Grill are open for breakfast.

Ah sorry - I meant a good quick service breakfast. Crystal Palace is a favorite of mine!
