Breakfast?

Previously we've stayed at the Santa Fe and the Davey Crockett. We found the Davey Crockett breakfast really good but the Santa Fe was chaos. My friends recently stayed at the Cheyenne and said Breakfast was a bit of a free for all...
We're staying in the Newport Bay this time, what is the breakfast like here?
Is there still the option of the 'Good Morning Fantasyland' Breakfast? We used this when we stayed at the Santa Fe but that was way back in 2007! I'm sure things have changed.

To be honest the thing I was most worried about when we were booked in the NPB (we have now upgraded to Hotel New York to allieviate my nerves) was the breakfast.

It's the biggest hotel by far, so apparently it can be really hectic.

That being said so can all of the hotels, and for that resaon we always go to breakfast at 7am - the exception being when we stayed in the Pink hotel, then we went in at 10.30am after EMH.

If you go early (like before 7.20am) I'm sure it will be very quiet and civilised, but I hear that once it gets much later the queues get huge!

They do still offer the GMFB, so that can be a good option.

My son is up with the lark so an early breakfast suits us better. I just hate the idea of the scrums that we encountered at Santa Fe. There were some very ill mannered people there.

Then I'm sure you'll be fine.

At NPB (presuming it's the same at SL) you get shown to a table, so you don't need to fight to find a place etc like I believe you do at the Cheyenne and SF.

If you get offered the GMFB for Plaza Gardens then apparently it's really great in there, so take it!

Back in 2008 we only got the option of Chalet de la Marionette, and while it was OK, and handy for being in the park, we preferred the SL breakfasts.

I'm sure you'll be fine with an early breakfast, we've never stayed there but reports seem to be as Torsie said the earlier the better. It's funny we all like different things too, I much preferred breakfast at HNY over DLH ..... Maybe that has something to do with all the business men that stay there I much prefer starting my day in the manhattan dining room

We stayed at NPB last year and it was fine. We went to breakfast at 7.00 each morning we ate in the hotel and had no problems and to be honest there were never long queues of people even when we were leaving at 7.45 or so. As Torsie 24 says you are shown to a table before you visit the buffet so you don't need to worry about having a tray of food and not finding anywhere to sit.

We stayed in the NBC a couple of weeks ago and breakfast was fine when we went early, mid or late but I think we may have been lucky, we did see long queues to enter on our way outs. We were never shown to a seat either but there were plenty of tables free. If you get the choice of eating in the buffet restaurant or conference room I would choose the former as the latter has no trays and slightly less choice and slower refilling we found.

I hated breakfast at HNY as it was in the conference room and it just felt really big and crowded, I felt like I was at a conference and would much preferred to be in the restaurant but this wasn't an option.

At Cheyenne on our first morning we ate at 7am and it was fine, straight in, found a seat and no queues for the food - second day we got down a bit later and it was chaos, trying to get some orange juice (for my diabetic husband) was just dreadful and all my DD wanted was some toast and it took 20mins to get to the toaster! Never again!

We will be doing breakfast at NPB either at 7am (to make the most of EMH) or getting room service (one of the reasons why we chose Admirals floor!) although we are contemplating a DLH breakfast one day too! So hopefully we won't encounter the huge queues!

Have you checked the prices of other hotels for your dates? It was £50 for us to upgrade to HNY.

Would ahve been free if we were lake view or admirals floor.
