Okay, we leave in 3 days. We are going with family and have the basic dining plan. So one counter meal and one service meal per day per person. We have sorta planned on using our counter meal for lunch daily, though I know we might need to add a few things if we're really hungry. But I'm confused about breakfast. Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems most the counter places don't even have breakfast food and we will NOT pay out the money to eat a sit down breakfast every day. We are doing a character breakfast one day and will use our full service credit for that on that day. My sister in law (who has been a couple of times) says the breakfast at the hotels is non-existent or like $15 for a bowl of cereal!!! :scared: I can't see paying that for a bowl of cereal. We will have to eat breakfast because we'll have little kids with us. What are our options? Can we get breakfast for our counter meal, if so how many places offer it? Do you think it's wiser to eat a small breakfast or a small lunch? Wiser to use your meal plan for breakfast or lunch? Thanks

:) We have been able to get breakfast at all our resorts. If we want a good sit down breakfast-quiet with good service and price--we take a bus to MK then the monorail to Contemporary for Concourse Steakhouse, now called the Wave. We usually do this on a late morning and then have a later supper. We rarely eat breakfast at out resort, though--usually muffins and stuff. You can use your snack credit for some of these items--or save a dessert for the following morning ( some people could even get a milk with their snack, so this might increase your options). Most places do have a breakfast sandwich or an egg/bacon meal. Check the menus here and at www.allearsnet.com. There is also a huge list of verified snacks that you can get anywhere--Beware, it is a 20 page list if you print it out. Have a great time. We get to go next week. :santa:

You can use a CS credit for breakfast at any hotel. Most have huge breakfast platters (eggs, meat, potatoes, bread) that can easily be shared by a couple of people. They also have Mickey waffles, pancakes, etc. If you want cold items (yogurt, cereal, fruit, pastry) those are available too. Adult breakfasts come with 2 beverages.

As for the $15 price, no way no how. Even that big breakfast platter is nicely under $10. Cereal is more like $2.

:) I would have to say it all depends on the way you travel--if you sleep late and do better with a nicer meal. Plan on using credits for an early lunch or late breakfast. We always travel adults only so I scheudule our main TS meal in the early afternoon for supper--5-6p.m. I do have Tusker House for Breakfast one day (Dad likes Donald)--that is the only breakfast TS I have. I am sure wwe will go to The Wave once or twice to try it out (as I said earlier--it's new). In the past we have gotten-2 eggs, grits, bacon, biscuit, soft drink and maybe another item for 10.99-11.99. That's a pretty good price for Disney. You could just get something from the Main St. Bakery when you arrive in MK--using a snack credit. I really hope this helps.

Have you booked your Table Service meals for this trip? You mention a character breakfast, but I'm not sure if that is an idea or if you actually have reservations. It is very important to have made reservations BEFORE you arrive at WDW. It is diffilcult to just show up and say, we'd like a table at WDW.

How old are your children and where are you staying? Our kids were 7&8 when we went in April and we stayed at POP this time. We scheduled our sit-downs way ahead of time and used the counter credit for the other "big" meal of that day. For breakfast, we paid OOP at the food court because it was easier. But my boys are big eaters. They polished off ... basically all meals !! Like a PP said, allears has great menu lists, you can look at what your family is likely to eat and judge accordingly. We also did do a couple breakfasts in the room (the days we wanted to get moving real early) of pop tarts and those little individual fruit cups.

We always bring a box of cereal and use a snack credit for milk and just eat that in our room before we leave for the day. Then we use the counter service for lunch and table service for dinner.

Trail Ends also has a yummy breakfast buffet for around $10-$11/person. It's a quick boat ride from MK.

The kids are 3, 5, 9, 12. We are staying at the WL. Yes, our character breakfast is already booked- we're going to the Cape May one. I'm really sorta upset because if I would have knew that all you had to have to make a ressie was your name and phone number then we would have called way more ahead of time and got a different one, but my sister in law thought we had to have our reservation number, etc. So that was the only one left. I feel better knowing a bowl of cereal isn't like $10. The box of cereal is a good idea. My son will also eat pop tarts, bannanas, etc in the room if we need to.

Call anytime before you leave. It will be better to try now for a few more of those reservations. You should be really happy with Cape May, the food will be good, the atmosphere fun and plenty of characters. :thumbsup2

Cape May Cafe is our second favorite character breakfast (only after Crystal Palace). You have Minnie, Goofy and Donald in bathing suit attire.
