I was lucky enough to get reservations for breakfast with Cinderella in MK (my kids love this). My family and I have done the breakfast two times before. Each time, we called and made the reservation by phone. They would ask for a credit card to hold the reservation, which we gave – no problem. Nothing was ever charged to my card in the past. This time, they charged my credit card $30.00. When I called back and questioned the charge, the CM said they just recently started doing this because people were making reservations and selling them over the Internet. Has anyone else heard of this?

Glad you mentioned this - I booked CRT last week and have just checked my credit card statement online and you are right it is on there 2@$10 per adult and 1@$5 per child - they didn't say it would be debited right away (or at least I don't think they did)

At least it is my first WDW transaction this year- in a funny sort of way it's exciting to see it there. Just hope they remember to deduct it from the final bill - might take my credit card statement just in case.

What happens if you are lucky enough to get two reservations? Will the charge be taken off? We will have several people calling for our family trip in Nov. Also, we will try for every day, what if we get Monday and Thursday?
Surely this will be taken off if you cancel well in advance, does anyone know for sure?

cinmell - Thanks for the link. After reading some of the thread, I am kind of glad they started charging. I couldn't imagine paying someone to do PS for me. After all, waking up early and having two cell phones going was part of the fun!

pigby - The CM I spoke with did say the charge would be deducted from the total bill. She didn't say anyting about having proof of payment though. It won't hurt to have a copy of the credit card statement. Good thinking! I think I'll take mine along as well.

tink2 - Good question. Sorry I can't help with the answer. Maybe a call to the reservations department will help. At least you get to listen to that cool Disney music if nothing else!

I made two reservations for our trip. I was charged a deposit for both, but when I cancelled the one, there was a credit on my credit card statement for the deposit. So...yes, you can get your deposit back if you cancel a reservation. You won't if it's not 24 hours ahead (it might be 48 hours ahead...not sure on that).

DW and both got through last week and got a PS. So when I called back to cancel one of them I asked about the deposit and the CM told me that do not actually charge your card unless you do not show up. I better pull up my account and see that I got a refund for the cancelled one and whether I was charged at all. Got another PS for CRT this morning so we can decide which one to go to.

The CM I spoke with this morning made it very clear that the deposit would be charged to my card would be charged THIS morning, and that they had a 24 hour cancellation policy.
