The hair dryer and coffee maker do not send off smoke or grease.
Cooking breakfast meats on ANY kind of appliance gives off odors and smoke which has miniscule grease particles in it. They stick to walls and furnishings and stink the place up.
I don't want to have my hotel room smelling like sausage.
Additionally grease splatters and burns, and that is what causes safety hazards. Hairdryers and coffee makers do not do so. It has nothing to do with the power draw, it has to do with the type of use of the appliance.
