How easy would it be to walk up to either Boma or The Wave for breakfast the first week of June? We are leaving a couple of days open for everyone in our family to choose what they want to do. My DH and I know we want to eat breakfast possibly at one of these locations but others in our family aren't really interested in breakfast. Since we aren't sure which day we will be able to eat breakfast, I wasn't planning on making ADRs. I'm pretty sure we can get something at The Wave but I'm more concerned about Boma. Any insight?

Make reservations anyway. As long as you cancel 24 hours in advance there is no penalty. Better to have a reservation than be disappointed.

Thanks for the recommendation, but I don't want to make ADRs. First, I'm afraid I will forget to cancel. But also, I'm trying to be more spontaneous on our trips. I am an obsessive planner, but I'm beginning to want a more relaxed vacation where every last detail is not planned. If there are no breakfast reservations, we won't be disappointed. We will just try to get into Sanaa or Olivia's for lunch or else we will eat CS. Two of our days are planned out in detail, and we have ADRs for dinners the other two days. But I want to "fly by the seat of our pants" before dinner on those days. We also want to wait to see what the weather is supposed to be on those days as we may go to DQ (if it's still open) or a water park. I'm just wondering what my chances are.

We did a walk up at the wave last summer for breakfast. The only issue may be getting into the parking lot without an ADR. They are getting more strict. But if you take Disney transportation to the MK and walk or monorail over you shouldn't have any problem.

This has got me thinking. Can you make an ADR the morning of? So let's say we wake up and my kids decide to go to a water park and we decide we are really hungry for The Wave. Can we get online and make an ADR if one is available? That way we will know whether to travel to the Contemporary or not. And we would have the ADR so that parking is not a problem. Boma's not so much a problem since we are staying at AKV.

Sure, but you can't cancel because it's within the 24 hours. Last visit my son and DIL decided they wanted a last minute date night (we were pooped and went back to the resort early) They wanted to go to DTD (now DS) and I went online and was able to get them a reservation for Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe. Then, they called and said transportation was slow and they were afraid they wouldn't get there on time but we couldn't cancel so I told them to do their best and hopefully they'd honor the reservation if they found out the party was late due to transportation. They made it. :)

In fact, I was just playing with the app and plugged in breakfast 7:30 for tomorrow morning and both came up. Can't be a comparison to June but people have said it's pretty crowded there right now.
